Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role will form an integral part of our three person Policy and Public Affairs team based in Scotland, working as part of a UK-wide Policy and Influencing team. The role will drive forward our policy projects to reduce poverty in later life, conducting expert research and policy analysis and turning this into persuasive evidence to catch the attention of decision makers and persuaders. The postholder will create opportunities to amplify the voices of older people in poverty and work to secure support for our policy recommendations in Holyrood.
You will have strong research skills with experience of turning quantitative and qualitative data into high quality, persuasive policy outputs. You will have experience developing credible, evidence-based policy solutions, informed by the perspectives and insights of people with lived experience.
You will be a skilled verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage different audiences. You will build strategic relationships with a variety of stakeholders to advance the solutions needed to address poverty in later life, using your knowledge of the political landscape in Scotland and passion for our cause.

About the role
We are looking to recruit a permanent multi-skilled advocate to join our busy Berks multi- disciplinary team, working up to 37 hours per week, minimum of 28 hours, starting salary £23,611 per annum, (pro rata).
In this exciting role you will be acting as an independent advocate supporting clients to ensure they get their voices heard. This may include providing advocacy across a number of different strands, such as the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Mental Health Act.
What we need from you
We are looking for someone who has the creativity and enthusiasm to support people in difficult circumstances, ideally has experience in a health or social care and may have their own life experiences relevant to the role. If you haven’t got advocacy qualifications it’s not a problem, we will provide the required training.
As this role is home based with regular travel, mainly but not exclusively in the Berkshire area, you must have access to both a stable home broadband service and easy access to transport as well as flexibility with working hours.
There may be times when work is required outside normal working hours so flexibility is required.
We also need you to live within Berkshire or surrounding counties.

This role offers hybrid working between home and one of our regional offices in either London, Ashburton (Devon), Blackpool or Warrington. You'll attend team meetings once a month from your linked office.
Must haves:
* Solid understanding of design practices and system architecture and have contributed to creating reference architecture and standards towards security best practises for wider engineering usage.
* Experience of conducting design and code reviews.
* Experience applying organisation's security strategy across multiple teams.
* Strong communication skills along with ability to lead a team towards a great product.
* General knowledge of automation/technology landscape to manage business processes.
* A wealth of hands-on experience with Power Apps and Power Platform technical solutions.
* Strong understanding of Azure offerings such as (but not limited to) B2C Tenants, B2B Collaboration, API Management Service, Storage Accounts, Function Apps, App Registrations and Application Insights.
* At least one relevant Microsoft Certification (intermediate/associate level or above).
* Core Skills: Power Apps (Model-Driven+Canvas), Dataverse, Power Apps Portals/Power Pages, Power Automate, plugins, classic Dataverse workflows, business process flows, Continuous Delivery using Azure DevOps, C#, Javascript, CSS and HTML.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role at Independent Age is a brilliant opportunity to contribute to our refreshed grant funding programme and work with amazing organisations that support older people in financial hardship. You’ll manage a growing group of grants partners for the south of England and Wales, fostering positive relationships with your portfolio and assessing the outcomes of funding. Your role involves application assessment, due diligence, and grant funding management. You’ll be helping to grant up to £5million in 2024 and contribute to new grant programme design and development. You’ll also play a key role in maximising additional opportunities for grants partners, including training, networking, and policy and campaigning engagement.
Your grants management experience, great interpersonal skills, keen eye for detail, and commitment to learning will help you succeed in this role. The post holder will need to visit grant holders across the south of England and Wales, so the ability to travel regularly is also important.
