Job Purpose

Increasing numbers of Disabled people are becoming aware of the fact that CYCLING might be possible for them. However, information about how/where to access cycling, the variety of possible equipment, regulations around cycling a non-standard cycle, funding avenues, etc. can be difficult to find. As the Wheels4MeLondon loan scheme starts to be marketed in Spring/Summer 2024, we anticipate increasing numbers of enquiries to reach us, including from around the UK.

With the support of the rest of the Wheels for Wellbeing team, our Specialist Advisor will become very knowledgeable about all aspects of Inclusive Cycling and will support enquirers with information and advice about the most appropriate next steps with regards to their cycling ambitions. They will provide information and advice, based on where enquirers live, their level of experience with cycling, their goals (whether they wish to try out cycling, to borrow, hire or to purchase a cycle, etc.).

Where a caller wishes to attend one of our own cycling sessions, the Advisor will support them with using our booking system. Where a caller is ready to borrow a cycle through Wheels4MeLondon, the Specialist Advisor will support callers to request a loan via the Peddle My Wheels website. Peddle My Wheels staff will then deliver the cycle to them at the agreed place and time, provide cycle training where required, and collect the cycle at the end of the loan period. For other enquiries, the Advisor will signpost callers to relevant external organisations.

To be successful in this role you need excellent listening and communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will love acquiring knowledge (including through online research), storing information and sharing it. You need to be confident using record keeping systems, within our data protection & privacy policy and working with people from diverse backgrounds and with a range of accessibility needs.

Job Description

1. Answering enquirers’ queries and providing information. This will include:

a. Being first point of contact for enquiries into Wheels for Wellbeing’s phone / email.

b. Actively listening to understand the detailed nature of the query and responding through the most appropriate and accessible mode of communication, whether contact is made by phone, email, instant messaging or other methods of communication.

c. Sourcing information from the rest of the Wheels for Wellbeing team and/or researching specific information for callers (where appropriate, redirecting the query to colleagues within the organisation or signposting them to other organisations).

d. Ensuring that new, useful information is stored/posted to our website for use by future enquirers.

e. Supporting people with queries about how to access Wheels for Wellbeing’s services, including support with our booking system

2. Building accessible information resources (eg: website pages, briefings, FAQ page, etc.) about Inclusive cycling, such as:

a. Inclusive cycling opportunities providers in London and around the UK

b. Types & models of non-standard cycles and specialist adaptions retailers around the UK and overseas

c. Details of the Wheels4Me London’s scheme and other inclusive cycle hire/loan schemes around the UK.

d. Funding options for Disabled people wishing to purchase their own cycles

3. Effective liaison with all Wheels4MeLondonPlus partners for successful cycle loan experience. This will include:

a. Regular communication with the Peddle My Wheels team to ensure most effective referral methods (to be developed with your input, as the scheme gets off the ground during Spring/Summer 2024)

b. Take part in project team meetings with all partners (Sustrans London; Peddle My Wheels and the rest of the WfW team).

c. Collect and store data such as numbers & types of enquiries, case studies, etc., as required for reporting to the funder.

d. Contribute to short articles, social media posts, etc. for the promotion of Wheels for Me London and Inclusive Cycling in general.

Other:

-  Contribute to the ongoing development of Wheels for Wellbeing, team meetings and organisational priorities

-Be proactive in keeping up to date with developments affecting the role

-Abide by and promote organisational policies and practices, and charity’s values

-  Support diversity and equality of opportunity in the workplace

About the Role

Humanists International has another separate entity based in the US. This role will be a part of the UK operations team but will collaborate with the US finance team occasionally when it’s required, for example, during the audit period. Both UK and US finance teams are managed by the same Director of Finance and Operations who is based in London. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can provide excellent finance and administrative support to the small, predominantly home-based team. We’re seeking someone who is personable, highly organised, has attention to detail and is keen to take initiative and learn new skills. Onboarding training will be provided, but we would like you to demonstrate transferable skills. 

You will work on a wide variety of tasks which will include bookkeeping and bank reconciliations, being the first point of contact for the organisation, as well as providing general administrative support to the team. You will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across a diverse international team.

This is a full-time or part-time with a minimum of 4 days/week (0.8 FTE), permanent position, which is predominantly home-based but does require the attendance of in-person events such as the General Assembly and Team Building. Board meetings normally take 3 hours and investment committee meetings take 45 minutes. These meetings are usually planned 6-8 months in advance.  TOILs will be provided when the meeting is held outside your normal working hours.

• Assisting the CEO with board papers and circulating them to board members before board meetings.

• Arranging flights and accommodations for the CEO and board members to attend in-person meetings when required.

• Arranging meetings for the CEO when required.

• Assisting staff and board members with queries on finance or administrative matters.

Essential Skills

• Accounting, finance, or economics qualification.

• A minimum of two years’ experience in bookkeeping and administration roles. 

• Experience using financial software. e.g. Quickbooks, Xero, Sage or equivalent.

Finance

• Invoicing – reviewing and paying invoices, invoicing members – ensuring compliance, authorisation requirements, flagging and investigating discrepancies and responding to related queries
• Provide financial support to the procurement process, from raising requests to assessing tenders for value-for-money and compliance.
• Validate travel expenses in advance of staff travel, and process expenses on return.
• Maintain the filing system for financial documentation
• Ensure payment documents’ compliance with GISF internal financial procedures and donor regulations.
• Produce relevant financial reports on a regular basis.

You’ll have overall responsibility for the Carer’s hub, where carers can drop in for advice and support, manage a small caseload, and support the delivery of the service’s range of activities as required, including respite activities, online groups, face-to-face sessions.

We are looking for a great motivator with excellent communication and organisational skills. Applicants should have relevant team or project management experience in social care, health, education or the voluntary and community sector. You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and operational knowledge of multi-agency working. A practical understanding of barriers faced by unpaid carers, and an awareness of cultural differences will be key in this role.

This is a full-time role and the postholder can either be based in the community in Lewisham or our New Ash Green office, with travel to the other area/ office 2 days a week. The postholder must have access to their own ULEZ compliant car.

Role Description

As Volunteer Programmes Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects in the Decorate A Child's Life (DACL) and Adventure Play Partnership (APP) volunteering programmes. The RSPB are expanding our HQ Corporate Partnerships team as we continue to build on recent successes and increased public awareness of our efforts to collaborate with businesses, enabling collective action in support of nature's recovery.

About the Role

The Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager will be responsible for driving significant income growth from corporates - working with brands and businesses to reach challenging targets. Your role will incorporate close involvement in the ongoing stewardship of prospects and improvement of the RSPB's offer through engagement with stakeholders across the organisation.

This role will focus on securing investment through natural capital markets, including biodiversity net gain, as well as the RSPB’s wider corporate partnership offering.  You will be working closely with colleagues in Conversation Investment, Business Conservation Advice, and the wider Business Engagement function to deliver high-value partnerships which will have a significant impact in the fight against the dual nature and climate crisis.

What we need from you

The post-holder will be someone who thrives in relationship management and successfully securing new partnerships.

The successful candidate will have significant B2B new business experience and a proven track record of securing complex corporate partnerships with strategic communications packages and financial values of £1m+.

Flexible location with regular travel across the UK to visit partners and attend events alongside scheduled working at the HQ in Sandy, Bedfordshire with team members - currently monthly.

Essentials:

• Experience in securing high-value, multi-dimensional partnerships in the private or third sector.
• Able to take a leading role in the partnership development strategy, generating ideas, bringing external insight, and delivering on agreed areas of work.
• Experience in developing and implementing ambitious sector strategies and producing tailored new partnership propositions that meet corporate and RSPB objectives.
• Able to proactively generate leads, build networks, and influence others, both internally and externally to secure multi-dimensional £1m+ value partnerships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective proposal writing and correspondence to internal and external audiences.
• CRM system experience.

Desirables:

• Knowledge of natural capital markets including Biodiversity Net Gain and Voluntary Carbon markets

Expeditions and Fieldwork Manager
Location: Kensington, London
Salary: £43,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, subject to successful completion of a probationary period of three months

The Expeditions and Fieldwork Manager will be at the forefront of developing our content and events, and making the right audiences aware of the support and advice they can get from the Society. In addition to our core audience of fieldwork and expeditions practitioners, we want to support many more people, from leading experts to the simply curious, to make the world a better place as they travel with purpose, develop geographical knowledge, and share what they learn.

This is an exceptionally rare opportunity for a passionate and experienced expeditioner to play a strategic role in supporting fieldwork and expeditions, and to significantly grow our community.
