About us
Who we are
Resonance is an independent, artist-led community radio station based in Southwark, London. Broadcasting 24/7 on FM, DAB and online, we support experimental arts, music, culture and under-represented voices through live radio and audio production.
Our programme is created by a large and diverse community of volunteer broadcasters, artists and producers, with hundreds of live shows made each year. Resonance provides an open platform for work that is often not represented elsewhere in mainstream media, alongside training, access to facilities and opportunities for creative development.
Resonance is delivered by London Musicians’ Collective Limited, a registered charity. As an independent organisation, we are sustained through a combination of listener support, charitable funding and project income, rather than advertising or commercial sponsorship.
Our culture and values
Resonance is a small, independent organisation shaped by the artists, broadcasters and communities it works with. We value independence, experimentation and access, and support creative work that sits outside mainstream cultural and media spaces.
Our team works closely with a large and diverse group of volunteer broadcasters. This requires a collaborative and respectful approach, with an understanding that our role is to support and enable others’ work while maintaining a reliable and well-run organisation.
As a small charity, we place a high value on people who can take ownership of their work, think carefully, and follow things through. We work with limited resources and incomplete information, so good judgement, clarity and attention to detail are important.
We aim to communicate our work honestly and proportionately, avoiding overstatement while making a clear case for its public value. We are interested in people who are curious about what we do and motivated to understand and support it.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Resonance is committed to creating a working environment that is inclusive, respectful and fair. We aim to ensure that everyone working with us—staff, volunteers and collaborators—is treated with dignity and that individual differences and contributions are recognised and valued.
We do not tolerate discrimination, bullying or harassment in any form, and take concerns seriously. We aim to make decisions about recruitment, development and progression based on merit, and to support people to develop their skills and experience.
As a community radio organisation working with a wide range of voices, we are particularly interested in supporting people who are under-represented in the arts, media and fundraising sectors.
