About us
Who we are
We employ approximately 80 people across Severn Arts, which includes a core team of 25 plus a team of peripatetic teachers, working in Worcestershire’s schools.
The day-to-day running of the charity is delegated to the Chief Executive, who reports to the Board of Trustees. In our leadership team we have a Director of Operations and Resources, a Director of Music and an Arts Director. More information about the senior leadership team and the Board can be found on our website.
The Board of Trustees provides governance and is responsible for ensuring that the charity operates in accordance with company and charity law and is prudently financially managed. The Board also contributes to the strategic direction, policies and planning and is accountable for the delivery of the Music Hub across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The Board meet quarterly and we also have an annual strategic planning day and a finance subcommittee, plus task and finish groups as relevant.
Our culture and values
We aim to contribute positively to the social, economic, and creative prosperity of our county and improve lives by delivering against our strategic aims. We will deliver this through an inclusive lens across the whole organisation. We will demonstrate and communicate this by measuring what we do against the following impact statements.
- We provide access to learning, information, and culture for everyone through creative programmes.
- We increase engagement with exemplary arts through participatory activity.
- We contribute significantly to the economy by providing jobs workspaces, and financial input.
- We invest in skills, develop talent, commission work, and collaborate to foster growth in the creative sector.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Severn Arts believes that the arts should be accessible, meaningful and relevant to our local communities whatever their socio-economic background, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender or disability.
We have a published strategy that outlines our commitment to ensuring that we embed inclusive practice in every aspect of the work we do and the team we employ.
We want to make sure that everything we do enables a diverse range of people to work and connect with us and with the arts and enjoy the benefits that the creative sector has to offer.
