Who we are

The Hope Foundation for Street Children (HOPE UK) is a charity dedicated to raising funds and awareness for disadvantaged street-connected children and slum dwelling communities living in Kolkata, India.

The support we raise helps provide access to essential services and restores basic human rights for these children and underserved communities. This is achieved through programmes delivered by HOPE’s dedicated team on the ground in Kolkata, in collaboration with trusted local partner organisations.

Working across five key programme areas — Education, Healthcare, Child Protection, Vocational Training, and Emergency Response — we aim to empower street-connected children to realise their full potential. Our mission is to equip them with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to build independent lives and strengthen their communities for generations to come.

HOPE UK was established in 2007 and is part of a global network of HOPE organisations based in Ireland, the USA, Germany, and India, united by a shared vision: “A world where it should never hurt to be a child.”
