About us
Who we are
Founded in 2018 by the tragically bereaved Brindley family, in collaboration with professionals from the education, health, and social services sectors, the charity was born from the devastating loss of James Brindley who fell victim to an unprovoked knife attack in June 2017. We are dedicated to ending youth violence and supporting families who face similar heartbreak. Our urgent mission is to address those critical issues today, ensuring they are consigned to history tomorrow.
Our culture and values
At The James Brindley Foundation, our culture is defined by purpose, passion, and people. We are a small but energetic and lively team, driven by a shared commitment to making a real difference. Our environment is supportive, collaborative, and built on mutual respect, where every team member is genuinely valued.
We are in an exciting period of growth, and with that comes high expectations for ourselves and for the outcomes we strive to achieve for those we support. Training and support are always available, ensuring that no one faces challenges alone and that everyone has the opportunity to develop and thrive.
While we work hard and expect consistency and dedication during working hours, we also fiercely protect work-life balance. Our flexible approach to service delivery allows us to meet both the needs of our team and those who access our services, without compromising wellbeing.
Open communication and inclusivity are core to who we are. We expect team members to share their opinions and to welcome perspectives different from their own. Respect, openness, and collaboration are not just encouraged they are essential to how we operate and succeed together.
