About us

Who we are

We are a community of over 500 people living and working together to end homelessness.

Trinity has evolved from having a mission and providing a service, to advocating rights and designing a solution, to growing a community that reflects the kind on society we want.

Trinity is a collective of individuals recognising our autonomy to act, through personal responsibility and mutual accountability.

This means we operate a non-hierarchical, or natural structure which empowers everyone involved to contribute actively and meaningfully to achieve our purpose…an end to homelessness.

Trusting in people’s natural abilities, fostering authentic connections and allowing systems to evolve naturally lead to more effective results. It also implies respect, recognising that forcing disrupts the balance and flow that comes from allowing things to unfold as they naturally would.

Our culture and values

Over the past 20 years, the underlining beliefs and values of Trinity, it could be viewed, have evolved in a way that mirrors the history of the path of western thoughts about the world – from an initial belief in a higher, external power (or God), to a focus on the importance of the individual, and, ultimately, to a more fundamental appreciation for the power of the collective.

In our early stages, we were in service to our mission and viewed this through a more hierarchical lens, where authority and higher ideals guided our actions. As we grew, the importance of human rights for the individual became our ideal, as we focussed on empowering people to take responsibility and act on their own behalf.

However, over time, we recognised that true transformation doesn’t come from the outside in, but rather from the inside out, nor solely from the autonomy of the individual but from the interconnectedness and strength of the community as a whole.

Today, we understand that the collective – working together, fostering mutual accountability, and sharing responsibility – creates a stronger, more sustainable foundation for progress.

Our current approach reflects a balance between honouring individual autonomy and embracing the power of community, recognising that it is through collaboration, shared purpose, and trust that we can achieve the most meaningful and lasting impact.

This evolution in our philosophy is at the heart of our mission, as we continue working toward a more inclusive, supportive, and unified future.
