About us
Who we are
Whispaws Animal Sanctuary is a volunteer-run UK charity dedicated to improving animal welfare in Serbia. We rescue and rehabilitate abandoned dogs and cats, providing safety, veterinary care, and preparation for loving homes in the UK.
Alongside rehoming, we run a street feeding campaign to care for animals still living on the streets, and fund sterilisation programmes to reduce suffering and prevent future abandonment.
Our small, passionate team works locally in South East London and North Kent, and remotely with supporters across the UK. We rely entirely on volunteer support, donations, and community fundraising to continue this life-changing work.
Our culture and values
Our values shape everything we do here at Whispaws, guiding us in our mission to care for animals in need.
Make time count - We focus on what matters most and work with purpose to make a difference.
Own it - We take responsibility, use resources wisely, and always follow through on our commitments.
Keep it real - We are open, honest and upfront about what we do and how we do it.
All paws in - We embrace everyone’s strengths, treating each other and our trusted partners with compassion and respect.
Dogs rule - We are driven by love, care and compassion for animals.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Whispaws Animal Sanctuary is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all that we do. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and treat everyone fairly, regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. We value diversity as a strength and aim to create an environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to contribute fully.
