We’re looking for volunteers who can give 4-8 hours (or more!), and especially on a Friday, of their time in the shop each week, and we’re excited to welcome brand new volunteers to our stores!

Our Books and Music Shops are part of what makes Oxfam totally unique. We get some really exciting donations and even more interesting customers. As a volunteer here, you’ll help us make the most of those donations and keep our customers coming back for more.
We’ll share our expertise with you and give you all the training and support you need to help us make the most of our wonderful donated books, DVDs, CDs, and vinyl. Whether you have years of experience or are totally new to retail, you will be part of a fantastic community of volunteers.
Our shops are like a beehive – there’s so much going on! You can keep busy behind the scenes, sorting, researching, and pricing donations. Or maybe you’d like to be on the shop floor serving customers and helpings donors. Some people like to focus on their speciality and some like to try a bit of everything. It’s up to you!

As a Lead Volunteer, you will assist the shop manager in leading, managing and planning for the development of a shop team. We’ll give you ongoing training and support to get you ready to lead a shift, train your team, and be left in charge. In Hull Oxfam Shop we’re dedicated to fighting poverty and inequality. Boost your CV, confidence, and skills by getting customer service & sales experience here. Or online skills and experience.
We'll give you training and support so you can help us sell lots of goodies each week by providing customers and donors with amazing service. Or get lots of donated items listed online for sale!
We ask for 4 - 8 hours per week. We can be very flexible around parenting / caring / health / employment / education and any other commitments you have. Some travel and lunch expenses can be covered too. Please Note we are unable to take under 18’s at present due to our shops bieng at capacity with a waiting list.

· Sorting incoming donations
