Job description

As the national youth council of the UK, The British Youth Council brings young people together to find their voice and use it for social and political change.  Through our programmes such as the UK Youth Parliament, Youth Select Committee and the NHS Youth Forum, we create opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills within a youth voice setting.

We are looking for an experienced youth development professional to join the team and help us to increase the reach and impact of our leadership development opportunities.  You will work with colleagues and young people to map our leadership journey, create a theory of change, and design tools and resources to support the consistent application of leadership development throughout our work. You will also support the development of our membership engagement and growth plan, using our enhanced leadership offer as a way to engage those not already involved in our work.

This post can be home working or based in our London HQ, although regular travel to the office will be required. As a part of the team the postholder will also support the design and delivery of a numbner of our key events, including residentials, throughout the year.

The British Youth Council  is committed to safeguarding and protecting the young poeple that we work with. As such, all posts are subject to a safe recruitment process, including the disclosure of criminal records and vetting checks. We ensure that we have a range of policies and procedures in place which promote safeguarding and safer working across our services.
