It is an exciting time for Youth Engagement here at Butterfly Conservation. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person with a strong background in youth participation to join our team to lead this next phase for our Youth Panel and our wider youth engagement work. You will be joining us in a maternity cover role, so must feel comfortable picking up work that has already been set in motion, although there will be plenty of opportunity to apply your own ideas and experience.

Overview
The Choir with No Name runs choirs and builds joyful singing communities with homeless and marginalised people, around the UK. Currently, there are six choirs: in Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Coventry, Brighton (run in partnership with BHT Sussex) and Cardiff (run in partnership with The Wallich). We were founded on the premise that singing makes you feel good; it distracts you from all the nonsense in life and helps you to build confidence, skills and genuine, long-lasting friendships. Our choir members are people who have experienced homelessness, or who are simply going through a tough time in their lives.

We have recently received funding from the National Lottery to build our participation programme to support choir members and people from the wider community work together to create safe, accessible and inclusive choir communities, as well as contribute to the national direction of the Choir with No Name. We are looking for someone to take on this exciting new role to lead the development of our participation programme at a national level as our Community Participation Manager. This role will work with our six current choirs and build a foundation for all future choirs.
As an organisation, we are committed to moving towards greater co-creation of choirs with people with experience of homelessness. This role is a crucial part of this journey.

Job description
Participation framework
- Carry out a skills audit across all our choirs to understand what skills are needed to run each choir with greater involvement from choir members, facilitated by choir managers. This will include discovering what skills choirs have amongst their existing member and volunteer communities, and what support and training could be shared.
- Research other organisations’ participation frameworks and volunteer programmes to identify ways in which the Choir with No Name can learn from others in the sector.
- Identify a range of tasks, roles, and responsibilities (being clear about the distinction between the these) that members and people in the community can take part in to support the running of the choir, along with the training they would need to do so.
- Identify healthy ways to step down from roles and responsibilities.
- Design and pilot a framework of roles, responsibilities and tasks, and associated training and support, before rolling out nationally across all our choirs.
Existing volunteer programme
- Evaluate our existing volunteering programme, listening to our volunteer team about their experience as a volunteer, identifying areas for development.
- Develop the existing volunteer programme to support and value volunteers and to incorporate our new approach to co-creation and co-production.
- Work with our existing volunteers in a transition from the current programme into the participation framework, whilst continuing communicating the value and importance of volunteers within the Choir with No Name.
Manage volunteer communications
- Develop and manage accessible communications to ensure volunteers are equipped with the tools they need to do their roles (training, policies, support) and feel valued (thanks and recognition for their hard work). This could include:
- A regular email to volunteers
- An online portal for volunteers to access whenever they need
- Regular meetings for volunteers to keep them up to date with what is going on in the organisation and to share practice
Volunteer recruitment, induction, training and data
- Lead on national volunteer recruitment and support local recruitment carried out by Choir Managers.
- Develop, with choir members and volunteers, a training programme to support roles within choir. This training should come in a range of forms, and where possible, led or informed by choir members.
- Manage volunteer data, including developing our data management system (currently Monday, but we are considering using Plinth), ensuring:
- Inductions are completed consistently and reviewed for long term volunteers.
- Training is implemented and kept up to date.
- Volunteer data is managed in a central database so we can effectively communicate, track and understand our impact.
- Reporting on volunteer numbers and other information is provided to the Senior Management Team and board.
Other
- Support the development of the Board Experience Programme and the Member Advisory Panel, led by the CEO and Head of Programmes.
- Work towards the Investing in Volunteers or Kings Award for Voluntary Service.
- Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Choir with No Name within the scope of the role.

We seek a Global Technical Lead - Social Inclusion and Mainstreaming, with expertise in addressing inequalities, to join our team of social inclusion professionals. As Local Mobilisation Officer, you will support the delivery of our ambitious programme to mobilise food banks in the Trussell network to campaign for change. In 2023 we launched the National Education Nature Park - a Department for Education funded programme empowering young people to take action on the environment as part of new measures designed to put climate change and sustainability at the heart of education. This is a GLA funded role as part of the wider DfE funded programme.
As Senior Programme Officer you will build and access networks that support education settings to connect with nature through the programme, and build skills for engaging and influencing nature on their estate. The Senior Programme Officer will also manage a programme officer to enable a broad range of schools and education settings to participate in the programme. As a regional team you will work to establish widespread, meaningful and sustained engagement with the programme.
Reporting to the Nature Park Senior Programme and Partnerships Manager, you will map schools in the London region to identify priority areas, and connect with senior school leaders across the region to engage them with the programme. You will develop partnerships and networks at a regional level with local authorities, businesses, and organisations in the education and charity sectors to provide additional support for schools and help sustain them on their Nature Park journey. You will work with the central programme team and partnership to build support systems for schools and settings that address barriers to participation, which may involve training and tapping in to existing volunteer networks and running events.
We are looking for a collaborative, creative individual with a passion for plants and the environment; someone who is experienced at partnership development and with a proven track record in project management.
You will work within a multidisciplinary project group including partners and colleagues with specialist scientific and community engagement knowledge and skills. Building and sustaining effective collaboration will be key to success in this role. You will be a confident communicator and listener with excellent planning and organisational skills. National Education Nature Park is a partnership project led by the Natural History Museum, working alongside the Royal Horticultural Society, the Royal Society, Royal Geographical Society, Learning through Landscapes, Manchester Metropolitan University and additional supporting partners.
The National Education Nature Park engages children, young people and their educators with nature, supporting young people in England to play a driving role in mapping and monitoring biodiversity on their grounds using citizen science and, critically, taking action to enhance it.
From creating pollinator friendly habitats where biodiversity can thrive, to creating planting schemes that support climate resilience. The project will showcase what can be achieved on the Education estate.

Introduction
BBC Media Action is the BBC’s international development organisation. We believe in media and
communication for good. We work in over 20 countries around the world reaching more than 100
million people a year – helping to save lives and improve health, protect livelihoods, challenge inequality
and build more peaceful and democratic societies.
This assignment is part of BBC Media Action’s ESARO Digital Engagement Strategy project, funded by
UNICEF. The aim of the project is to develop a Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Regional Digital
Engagement Strategy for UNICEF related to youth-focused programmatic priorities in their Eastern and
Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO). This Regional Digital Engagement Strategy will be developed to
be applicable across thematic areas of work, and, following the development of the draft strategy, it will
be operationalized in four selected countries in the region for a specific thematic area.
Objective
The overall aim of this assignment is to support the development of the Regional Digital Engagement
Strategy for the UNICEF ESARO region. The consultant would be responsible for bringing together the
complete draft regional strategy by engaging with BBC Media Action teams responsible for writing
different elements of the strategy and relevant UNICEF colleagues. The consultant will also be required
to conduct desk research and complete a review of relevant documentation to ensure the relevance and
applicability of the strategy to UNICEF’s practices and ways of working.
The consultant should be a specialist in digital engagement and have experience of developing SBC strategies. An understanding and experience of delivering similar work with UN organisations, in particular UNICEF, is desirable.
The specific objectives of the Regional Digital Engagement Strategy will be to contribute to:
•
an increased knowledge among UNICEF SBC and Programme teams, and their partners, of the variety of digital platforms and tools and social media channels that have been developed and deployed by UNICEF or third parties in the region;
•
an enhanced awareness among UNICEF SBC and Programme teams of successful digital engagement initiatives on the programme areas of interest and/or in terms of promoting civic engagement and youth participation;
•
an increased understanding of how UNICEF Country Offices and their partners can apply specific digital engagement approaches to an integrated intersectoral/multisectoral programming, independently or in combination with face-to-face methods, with a disaggregated analysis for reaching marginalised youth populations, including youth with disability;
•
an increased engagement with key influencers in the digital space (as per available social listening analytics) that can engage youth on specific programmatic actions;
•
an increased digital reach among youth ensuring that SBC can gather evidence-based data to measure the impact of digital initiatives towards L2E, SRH, HIV, HPV, VAC, mental health, and climate action outcomes.
Outputs
The consultant will work with other members of the BBC Media Action team to deliver the following outputs over the course of their assignment:
1)
Writing specific areas of the strategy focused on Digital Engagement Interventions (by 3rd May 2024): The consultant will conduct a review of existing documentation and use their digital engagement and SBC expertise and experience to write areas of the strategy within the Developing Digital Engagement Interventions for SBC strategy section. Review of documents will be coupled with participation in sessions with UNICEF and BBC Media Action colleagues, including the Regional Theory of Change sessions, to enable the consultant to lead on writing certain areas of the strategy, including but not limited to understanding digital users, approach to communication, content production and pilot testing.
2)
Delivering complete draft strategy (by 10th May 2024): The consultant will bring together all strategy inputs (from other members of the BBC Media Action team and sections written themselves) to deliver a holistic and comprehensive final output. This will include reviewing draft inputs of all sections of the strategy, from other team members, ensuring consistency in writing style, language and approach throughout, as well as leading on the writing of the introduction and summary.
The consultant will be expected to oversee and incorporate feedback to the draft strategy up to 31st May 2024.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will have the freedom to develop the organisation’s strategy to enhance our reach, support income generation and hone our messaging to inspire new and long term support for our vision to see wild orangutans thriving in resilient rainforest landscapes.
A key part of the Fundraising & Communications team, this role reports to, and will work closely with, the Development Director and fundraising colleagues to amplify campaigns and activity. Key to the success of this role will be the ability to build strong relationships with our Sumatran-based Story Teller, our Programmes team and our partners to keep abreast of impact on the ground and tell these stories.

Role outline and purpose
Working as a key link between the Philanthropy team and wider organisational teams, the Philanthropy Content Reporting Manager – Trusts will create specific reporting materials for our key funders. You will hold responsibility for a reporting schedule for named partners and work closely with our impact and finance teams to track progress of funded projects and ensure that we deliver partner/funder updates in line with agreements.
You will have experience of supporting high-value fundraising teams and be adept at building strong relationships across the organisation to help inform the Trusts team about the activities and outputs of our operational teams. You will understand complex qualitative and quantitative data and use this to write up, design and produce high-quality communications for donors. You will be confident at taking the lead on the reporting requirements of our relationship managers, with efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
• Lead on the bespoke and restricted high-quality reports for funders in line with grant conditions
• Work closely with our project delivery, impact, communications and finance teams to ensure funds are delivering greatest impact for our donors
• Keep up to date on project delivery plans and aspirations
• Understand and translate both qualitative and quantitative information and present these in a visually compelling, digestible format
• Provide insight and performance information to help inform team strategy/projections, including the management of CRM, financials, and KPI reporting requirements
• Coordination of events to support effective donor engagement

Job purpose
To conceive and execute a best-in-class marketing and communications strategy to position us as the go to organisation on dementia carer support. Your work will underpin our efforts to campaign for change, partner with organisations, and provide practical and emotional support so that no dementia carer feels isolated, invisible or alone.
Key responsibilities
·Lead on the development and delivery of the marketing and communications strategy and activity, working with colleagues in public fundraising, commercial income generation and campaigns, to achieve agreed annual targets in line with DCC’s plans.
·Using primarily digital platforms and working with colleagues in fundraising, campaigns and service delivery, co-produce a suite of activities and assets that deliver relevant prospect audiences into the wide end of the funnel.
·Lead on communications work, including journalist outreach and pitching news stories, content creation, discussion and engagement on current affairs from the perspective of our cause and issues.
·Work with colleagues to gather and curate compelling, emotional stories and to embed a story-led approach in our communications.
·Support the fundraising team to develop assets for DCC’s supporter journey, using data analysis and insights to ensure the effective stewardship of supporters.
·Set, monitor and report on campaign and project budgets, key performance indicators and annual work plans as well as longer term financial forecasts.
·Be responsible for adhering to all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations relating to marketing, digital and communications.
·Establish and document key processes in the marketing function, working closely with colleagues in fundraising and operations to do so.
