Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
- Identify, cultivate and develop a portfolio of Major Donor and Family Foundation prospects.

About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 13 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£8-9 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.

About this role
We are seeking a maternity cover Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager – someone who is a talented and ambitious fundraiser who will join the Impetus Philanthropy Team and have responsibility for building new partnerships and stewarding existing ones.

Background and role purpose
Consortium hosts the largest network of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + groups, projects and organisations in the UK (600 members) and offers a range of support so that they can deliver vital support and services to over 5 million LGBT+ people, their friends and families. We are also a specialist grant funder, having provided over £1.75m in grants since 2019, across 275 awards, with this being an exciting area of growth falling within the remit of this role.
We are recruiting for a Head of Partnerships and Development who will support our charity, and the LGBT+ sector, to continue growth in an appropriate and sustainable way. We are seeking an excellent relationship builder who can help us maximise our ability to generate positive social impact through relationship-building and fundraising skills.
As Head of Partnerships & Development you will be responsible for managing key business partnerships, identifying new potential income streams (for Consortium & the LGBT+ sector), and exploring opportunities to increase the impact of our work.
You will devise creative and innovative strategies including campaigns with partners, liaising with corporate contacts and building and developing relationships with new key stakeholders.

This role is ideally based in our London or Sheffield office but could also be in our Cardiff, or Glasgow office. Our hybrid working model allows full-time staff members to work up to 3 days per week at home.

You will specialise in philanthropy and partnerships, and your role will cover major donors, individual giving, and corporate fundraising. You will also have oversight of the trusts and foundations funding stream and help us explore and develop different income streams. You may be in a charity fundraiser role already, or from a different sector with experience of business development, partnerships and income generation. At Peer Power Youth, you will have autonomy in your role to build the fundraising department in the charity by growing a team and working closely with the responsible Co-CEO, and Communications team in a supportive and flexible environment.
You must have a track record of securing support and income and be excited by developing a multi-income stream portfolio, including creative events that link to our charity mission and brand, with high profile supporters.

Context and Responsibilities within this role:
Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Fundraising, the successful candidate will lead their philanthropy programme to deliver ambitious income generation plans from a range of income streams. The Senior Philanthropy Manager's main responsibilities will be to:
* Lead, motivate, manage, and grow a small team.
* Lead the expansion of the current, low value-high volume small Trusts & Foundations fundraising programme and develop a new high value-low volume programme.
* Establish a Major Donor fundraising programme by identifying individuals with a genuine interest in medical research.
* Build relationships with other medical charities and patient organisations in order to make joint applications to relevant funders.
* Lead an expansion of the Corporate Partnerships programme.
* Develop relationships with Trustees and other senior stakeholders to encourage them to fundraise amongst their networks.
* Build and maintain a long-term and sustainable prospect pipeline of high-value supporters
They are now looking for:
* Significant experience in a senior fundraising role with prior responsibility for Trusts and Foundations and at least one of the following: Major Donors or Corporate Partnerships.
* Experience of supporting senior stakeholders to be effective fundraisers.
* Robust experience of developing and implementing successful strategic fundraising plans.
* Proven record of personally securing six figure donations from individuals and organisations.
* Significant experience of identifying, cultivating and building relationships with cold prospects.
* Experience of leading and motivating high-performing teams to achieve targets.
* Experience of budgeting processes, managing risk, KPI reporting.
