Public and Patient Affairs Advisor
Location: Aylesbury, HP19/Hybrid with options for flexibility
Hours: Between 28 and 35 hours per week
Salary: Circa £35,000 per annum (pro-rata basis for part-time hours)
This is an exciting time to be at Lymphoma Action as we work to an ambitious plan to develop services and advocate for better treatment and care. We also want to raise the profile of lymphoma and be a voice for people affected by lymphoma so that they can influence the decisions that affect them.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be:

- Analytical with the ability to gather and understand complex information about lymphoma, it’s treatment and the environment we operate in;
- Focused with great organisational skills and attention to detail to manage a varied workload;
- Passionate about representing the patient voice and about equity of access to good care and treatment.
You may have transferable skills from a different but relevant specialism or sector, from medical writing to policy, or from communications and campaigns to patient advocacy. If you believe you can learn quickly to succeed in this role, we’d love to hear from you.

About us:
Action for M.E. is the only charity in the UK providing direct support including healthcare to children and adults with M.E.. We provide vital support services, campaign for change and invest in ground-breaking research to help put an end to the ignorance, injustice and neglect experienced by people with M.E.
Opportunity:
Having been paused to new referrals, Action for M.E.’s free, independent, Adults Advocacy service will soon be re-opening. It’s one of our range of free Support Services that work with adults, young people, and/or families living with M.E. We support colleagues across the team to take part in and share reflective practice, self-care, peer-support and training.
Our Adults Advocacy service offers non-statutory, single-issue, instructed advocacy for adults with a confirmed diagnosis of M.E. We encourage self-advocacy where possible, though many of our clients are too severely affected by M.E. to be able to take undertake this.
As an Adults Advocate, you will manage a caseload of clients, as well as inputting and contributing to the triage process along with your Advocacy colleagues. You will meet with clients by phone, email, Zoom and/or SMS; we can also facilitate communication by post if this is required. We are not able to offer home visits or face to face meetings.

About the role
At Young Lives vs Cancer, we know that children, young people and parents with lived experience of childhood cancer are the best people to guide and shape the work that we do. As Voice Manager, you will work with the Head of Voice to deliver our Voice strategy and deliver a high-quality Voice team in order to enable young cancer patients and their families to have a stronger voice, inside and outside the organisation - not just to contribute, but also to challenge, giving the power to them to amplify their voice and make positive change.
Our Voice team is a key part of the Policy, Communications and Voice Directorate, which synthesises our policy, research, campaigning, voice, media & brand, digital and communication work. If you want to join us in working together to build a strong, effective system of support for young cancer patients and their families, we want to hear from you.
We would love to hear from you if you have experience of:
• Service user involvement and youth participation
• Communicating with different audiences and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborating with and influencing colleagues and beneficiaries to support involvement and co-production
• Managing a team / line management experience
• Sound written communication skills, including report writing and writing for digital channels
• Using digital platforms/CRM systems to build and engage networks and communities (desirable)
Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.
This role is home-based and can be based anywhere in the UK with occasional visits to Young Lives vs Cancer workplaces.

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.
CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.
We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.
The role requires excellent donor care and stewardship skills. All forms of communication will be required including the proactive use of digital channels such as the website and social media platforms.
The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The role will also support the Head of Income in the delivery of a legacy and major donor program.
You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship programmes that drive retention by deepening audience understanding of the challenges that people affected by cleft face and the impact that their donations make. Using data and insight, you’ll deliver compelling campaigns, with people affected by cleft right at the centre. You’ll use creative tools and techniques to demonstrate impact and inspire future action.

About the Role

Or, you will lead the Living Well Programme, bringing together a range of projects and activities that respond to the challenges presented by inequality and help to unlock the power of people and communities to create health, maintain good health and to manage as effectively as possible whilst living with one or more chronic conditions which in turn seeks to reduce or avoid demand on NHS services
About You
Whichever Programme you lead, you will have experience of:
· Leading complex multi-partner and stakeholder programmes in the VCSE or public sector
· Leading large programmes including programme management, governance, monitoring, impact measurement and reporting
· Working in an evolving strategic and operational environment and able to maintain and direct impactful programmes through periods of change
· Building and delivering communication strategies, using learning and insight to drive transformation
· Leadership and people management
· Co-production, collaboration and partnership working
· Working in a team to support the delivery of team objectives
