About KLS Love to Learn team
Since 2004, KLS Love to Learn education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported thousands of young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family/carers needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.
Key Objectives:

About the role
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate support worker to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Housing Support Practitioner in our small and dedicated team. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed with the support of the Housing Link Worker. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. What will you be doing?
- Giving the highest possible standards of support to individuals with moderate to severe learning disabilities.

Job Purpose
Our Bright Futures programme provides mentoring, employability, and wellbeing support for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller young people aged 14 – 25 years. We believe that increasing opportunities for young people is crucial for the future of their communities. We work directly with them through tailored mentoring and consistent support to build motivation, confidence, and resilience. The aim is to enable the next generation to overcome socio-economic barriers, engage in wider society, and be active changemakers for their community.
We are in an exciting growth phase and are looking for 2 Project Workers for the team to rapidly extend programme reach and impact. As part of the team, the Project Workers will together be involved in overall programme planning, delivery, and community outreach with a focus on skills development and employment prospects. In coordination with the Project Lead, you will develop collaborations with employers and training providers, and Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller community members to identify relevant training, learning and work placements for young people. You will work directly with young people and their families through community outreach initiatives to raise awareness as well as deliver individual and group sessions on a variety of themes and issues.

About the role:
The Non-Crimes Assessment Worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. They will work within the team to make proactive contact attempts with a high volume of new referrals. Their main focus will be contacting the police cases that may otherwise not get referred into the service. Once this contact is established complete initial needs and risk assessments. They shall provide initial advice and crisis safety planning before the case is allocated to an IDVA/caseworker or referred to the appropriate partner agency for ongoing support. They will provide this high quality support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from the age of 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice, civil remedies, housing and related matters.
About You:
You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and children. Be skilled in risk management and safety planning and is experienced in domestic violence advocacy, who has worked with a high volume of clients who have complex and multiple needs. You will have a countenance that remains calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis and you will have experience working within safeguarding procedures.
