Job description

I CAN is seeking an enthusiastic Press Officer to join our busy but small Communications team in Central London. Responsible for implementing a creative PR strategy to support a range of campaigns and projects, whilst maximising opportunities to increase I CAN’s profile and raise awareness of both the issues surrounding speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and I CAN’s work.

With at least three years PR experience, you will have the ability to lead in securing coverage in the press and media whilst managing campaigns and relationships.  As a creative and results-focused individual, you will be a strong communicator with a willingness to work flexibly and across the organisation in order to meet I CAN’s needs. You will need to be experienced in successfully managing multiple projects and multiple stakeholders.  An understanding of our sector or children’s communication would be a distinct advantage.

The role will be based in our Central London office with flexibility to work from home. It’s an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional to manage their own work while making an impact in I CAN’s brand status. The role is initially offered on a temporary contract ending June 2020.

I CAN is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We carry out appropriate vetting and verifications on all staff.
