Synchronicity Earth is a UK-based, global environmental charity which funds work that aims to make our planet a better place to live for all its inhabitants.
We are a medium-sized charity which supports partners working to protect less well-known species and ecosystems around the world that receive less attention but face the greatest threats. We also support work across two other areas: the More than Carbon initiative, a portfolio of climate and biodiversity projects targeted at corporate donors; and the Synchronicity Portfolio, which aims to foster systemic change to promote a greater focus on biodiversity conservation within different sectors. Our partners are mostly organisations embedded within their local communities, and we often support work which also considers social impacts such as women’s health and empowerment, engagement with Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and sustainable livelihoods (e.g., small-scale fisheries) in addition to wildlife conservation.

The second-stage interview will aim to understand your prior experience, your values, and what transferable skills you bring to the role. The third-stage interview will seek to understand how you work, whether this role and our organization are the right fit for you, and what development opportunities would be of most value to you.

We aim to apply the same dedication to a flourishing diversity of people and wildlife on our planet through our programmes to our working environment and strive to make this environment open and inclusive for everyone.
As part of our commitment to attract and retain talented individuals from under-represented groups to the conservation and environment sector, if you have a disability or are from a BAME background, opt in to the Guaranteed Interview Scheme in our candidate survey, and demonstrate in your application that you meet the essential criteria for a role, you'll be guaranteed a first-stage assessment. In most cases, this will be a 20-minute interview held via Zoom, however, in the case of an extraordinary number of applicants, the first-stage candidates (including GIS) will receive a short assessment. Expected second-stage interview dates: 13/05/2024 – 17/05/2024

Introduction to the role
Full Fact fights bad information. We’re recruiting for a new Product Manager (Supporter Experience) to help tackle the spread of misleading, dangerous claims—and hold those responsible to account.
As Product Manager (Supporter Experience), you will make sure those who make false claims in public can’t get away with it. Every day our team of fact checkers and campaigners find, check and challenge false claims. We identify the reasons for bad information, so we can campaign to change the systems that enable it. Your job will be to raise awareness of, and build support for, our cause through managing our supporter experience on our digital platforms.
This is your chance to work on campaigns that demand national media attention and ultimately change public debate for the better—with a supportive team behind you.
Bad information—whether shared by politicians, journalists or influencers online—ruins lives. No one should settle for it. You’ll win support for Full Fact’s cause and make change happen through delivery of digital products that gain public support for our policy and advocacy work.
Whether that’s planning and devising the digital strategy, executing the plan through developing digital channels such as the website, email and our Salesforce CRM, or ensuring our product roadmap is informed by audience research, you’ll be responsible for continuously improving our supporter experience.
This is an exciting time to join Full Fact in a year when we expect to see a General Election. You’ll be working as part of a successful communications team alongside creative specialists in press, social media, website and CRM development, community management and digital campaigning. We’re looking for someone who shares our ambitions and pushes us even further.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment but know how to support colleagues, especially by helping to join up work across teams and translate between people from different disciplines. You’ll be as comfortable analysing data to make decisions, as applying our brand guidelines to ensure our copy works hard across digital channels.
Our reputation matters. As well as looking to build and reinforce it, you’ll be personally committed to Full Fact’s standards as an independent, impartial charity.
If you are interested in applying but not sure you have all the skills, please do apply. We are open both to supporting learning on the job and to rearranging tasks within the team to suit the skillsets of the best applicant
Job Definition
The Product Manager (Supporter Experience) is responsible for planning the digital strategy and executing the plan to deliver online content and campaigns that increase awareness of our work and drive the public to take action and donate to our cause.

Responsible for understanding and developing the user journey across digital touchpoints - as diverse as online advertising, campaigns and virtual events - you will advise on how best to improve the user experience and manage our content.
You will manage a multi disciplinary team of people who deliver our CRM, website, email campaigns, audience research and community initiatives.
Outcomes
In the first 6 months you’ll have the opportunity to coordinate the delivery of at least 3 campaigns that are designed to end deceptive campaign practices by political parties, improve regulation of political advertising and encourage MPs and Ministers to correct the record when they make a wrong or misleading claim. You’ll have access to new audience research data, and will use that to inform the work we do.
You’ll bring together a team of multi disciplinary experts to deliver on our campaigning aims. You’ll work with them to develop our website, CRM and mailing list to have the greatest impact, ensuring we have the right data to make good decisions.

About First Step Trust:
First Step Trust (FST) is a registered charity providing access to work experience and employment opportunities for people (referred to as workforce) with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, a history of offending and other socio-economic disadvantages, with a key aim to provide opportunities for people who are not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
The charity currently operates a garage and a catering business, both focused on providing real-life work experience for these learners. FST has over thirty years' experience as a provider of employability programmes and has successfully run the commercial aspects of the business, creating a solid balance sheet with healthy reserves.
In recent years, FST has been exploring new ways of helping people overcome barriers to learning including, low levels of literacy/numeracy and debilitating anxiety in formal situations e.g. exams or interviews.
Through FST's ground breaking work using Virtual Reality (VR) to upskill our workforce members and engage learners in secure mental health facilities, we have recognised the potential of assistive and emerging technologies as a real game-changer for the people we work with. The technology enables us to do things never before possible. We have, with the support of Halfords Autocentres and the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), developed an innovative programme which offers high quality training in a safe environment that does not require any written work.
This led us to identify the need for new ways of enabling and 'scaffolding' learning that will combat some of the wider psychosocial barriers including 'fear of learning', the impact of e.g. learning disabilities, Autism, negative peer pressure and reoffending behaviours. A recent Resolution Foundation report suggests that current "low rates of training among the least educated are troubling, given international evidence showing that there are higher returns to adult education for these individuals." Research suggests that AI/ machine learning could help us overcome these.
We have been supported by two Ufi VocTech Trust grants to deliver VR supported training to these communities of learners furthest away from learning and work. The route to market for our products is into the automotive industry directly, but is also being commissioned by NHS and criminal justice/mental health services as a way to introduce those in secure environments to potential future work opportunities.
These digital developments form part of the charity's strategy for embracing digital innovation to better serve our client base and grow the market we are able to serve beyond those in our local areas.
