The Pituitary Foundation are recruiting for a new CEO to lead us into the next phase of our journey.

The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.

It is an exciting time to join The Foundation. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout 2024 and are working towards our ambitious strategy which we are excited to achieve. Our new website, and CRM, combined with robust processes and procedures offers a strong foundation, for a new CEO to build on.

About the Role

This role will combine the ambition of The Foundation without losing the core importance of being a person-centred patient support group, offering kindness and support at challenging times.  You will bring excellent interpersonal skills, as well as financial acumen and an appetite for seeing the best possible service delivered to a wide demographic.

Location: Based in the Bristol office, with flexibility for hybrid working

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

Reports to: Chair and Board of Trustees

Holiday: 30 days plus statutory bank holidays

Pension: 5% employer contribution

We are looking for a Policy Officer within our Service Delivery Team. Location: Oxford / hybrid working (up to full time from home, in line with Picker's remote and home working policy - must be based in the UK)

In this role, you will support the development and implementation of Picker's policy influencing strategy to make person centred health and social care a reality for everyone. You will be responsible for monitoring policy and political developments, promoting evidence-based policies to advanced person centred care and building and maintaining relationships within the health policy world. You will leave on the development of policy outputs including briefings, position statements and white papers, working with colleagues to build evidence and articulate Picker's messages.

This role

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain a good understanding of key health and social care policy and political developments
• Lead on or assist with a range of high-profile policy projects, including the planning and development of projects, and contributing to analysis, writing and publication.
• Identifying opportunities to contribute to public policy debates in health and social care, using evidence from Picker’s work and from the public domain to provide insightful thought leadership.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support policy analysis, responsive policy work, and to enhance Picker’s external profile across various audiences.
• Lead on and assist with written outputs, such as topic-specific briefing papers, website copy, presentations and blog posts to communicate the findings of our work.
• Carry out literature reviews and rapid scans of data and evidence to scope public policy positions on a range of key issues.
• Present evidence and findings (both in writing and orally) about highly complex and sometimes contentious subjects to a wide range of audiences, ensuring an understanding of the subject and issues arising and enabling informed decision making
• Support the drafting of responses to consultations, policy briefings, and other public policy initiatives, including relevant third party publications.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and collaborators relevant to our policy portfolio, including academic and health and social care policy communities.
• Work collaboratively with other teams, creating strong links between other programmes and projects, to promote the use of services, products and survey findings that improve the quality of healthcare.

About You

You will have:

• Understanding of health and social care policy and related public policy developments in the UK
• Understanding of how policy decisions are influenced and made
• Knowledge and experience of research and analysis relevant to health policy. This might include synthesising different kinds of evidence, carrying out interviews, or analysing data
• Familiarity with and understanding of the core principles of both quantitative and qualitative research including strengths and limitations of different approaches and their use in different contexts
• Evidence of being able to produce high quality written work for a range of audiences
• Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, collaborators or partners
• An interest in healthcare quality and person centred care
• Ability to analyse complex policy issues, assess their implications for Picker and our beneficiaries, and provide evidence-based recommendations
• Excellent project management skills with a track record in undertaking and managing policy and/or research projects

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.

The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.

We want someone who can learn and grow in this role so if you don’t have every skill listed but are organised, motivated, and interested in our work then we want to hear from you.

The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. Learning and Development Coordinator

Provide technical support and quality assurance to RedR UK Programmes Team, ensuring high-quality, relevant, appropriate, and high impact services to RedR UK beneficiaries and donors.

This position works closely with the members of the Learning and Development Team, as well as working in a support role with members of the Programmes Team to deliver quality learning and development programming. The Learning and Development Coordinator also works in partnership with external partners, including members of RedR’s Associate Trainer network, as well as other RedR organisations, partners and clients.

ABOUT THIS ROLE 

The Learning and Development Coordinator is an essential role within the Learning and Development Team and the Programmes Team more generally. The staff will closely work and coordinate with other members of the L&D Team as well as Programme Managers, Coordinators and Officers, Associate Trainers and Consultants, etc. The L&D Coordinator designs and adapts RedR UK training materials as well as providing technical L&D support and quality assurance to the broader Programmes Team. In particular, this role will focus on building and strengthening RedR UK’s self-paced eLearning offerings. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Ensure that the quality of our L&D services and material is maintained, improved and expanded: 

• Contribute to guiding, standardising and quality assuring the conversion of learning/training material, content and courses or course modules to e-learning 
• Contribute to updating, maintaining and expanding RedR UK L&D and training material and resources, store & categorise them, and make them accessible
• Contribute to the update and maintenance of RedR UK’s e-learning and open-source learning platforms
• Provide quality assurance of project outputs or deliverables and assist in drafting high quality reports
• Contribute to the development or updating of RedR UK’s L&D and eLearning strategies 

Support the delivery of RedR UK's demand-led services to a consistently high standard: 

• Provide an end-to-end service - designing, supporting, quality assuring and evaluating the delivery of learning interventions, including developing new training and capacity development services (F2F, online facilitated and eLearning), particularly in connection with RedR UK’s self-paced eLearning offerings 
• Coordinate with the L&D team on planning and scheduling of L&D activities and liaise with colleagues across RedR UK to ensure uniform high quality of services 
• Where appropriate, design and/or deliver learning/training services directly to the participants 
• Where appropriate and agreed by line manager, lead the execution of selected projects, especially L&D projects 
• Assist in ensuring that necessary monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) data is gathered and analysed on all activities 

Support Network of Associate Trainers (ATs) and L&D Consultants to effectively deliver RedR UK's services: 

• Support the capacity building of ATs in L&D and technical Quality Assurance related matters, including introduction to RedR UK training methodologies, innovative training techniques, new training tools, etc. 
• Contribute to the recruitment, assessment and onboarding of prospective new Associate Trainers (ATs) into the trainer pool and/or on specific projects as required 
• Coordinate the work, performance, and planning of Associate Trainers when working under the L&D Unit. Quality-assure their work when working under Programmes Hubs 

Ensure that RedR UK services meet the needs of the sector and work to expand our reach: 

• Keep up to date with developments in learning with a focus on eLearning technologies and platforms, as well as other training methodologies and issues in the humanitarian sector and advise RedR UK programme teams accordingly 
• Contribute to identifying and exploring possibilities for expanding the range of services offered by the organisation and source funding for their implementation 
• Support business development efforts and proposal preparation by ensuring that the L&D component of the methodology is appropriate, services offered are in line with requirements, likely to achieve high impact and adding overall value to the programme 
• Represent RedR UK at selected external events and forums, as appropriate 
• Be the Key Account Manager (KAM) for selected Key Accounts (clients and partners) in line with RedR UK’s KAM System

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS 

Essential 

• Experience in design of self-paced and blended eLearning programmes, including experience with Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Vyond and other animation/design platforms including a strong understanding of accessibility requirements 
• Experience managing Learning Management Systems, especially Moodle 
• Experience and understanding of learning and development approaches, adult learning (andragogy) and participatory learning methodologies, including designing and conducting LNAs, designing, delivering and evaluating face-to-face and online facilitated events and revising/adapting training material
• Experience assessing learning, familiarity with the Kirkpatrick Model, and experience tracking, evaluating and reporting on learning data 
• Excellent people skills and experience in the coordination of consultants, including effective cross-cultural communication and strong inter-personal skills 
• Ability to influence, build and maintain networks and relationships, both externally and internally to achieve good results, representing RedR UK at a senior level to a high standard 
• Good workload management skills and ability to use initiative to solve problems

About the NCD Alliance 

The NCD Alliance (NCDA) is a global civil society alliance of 400+ civil society members across 80 countries dedicated to supporting a world free from preventable suffering, disability and death caused by noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Over 14 years, NCDA has built a reputation as a leading global advocacy organisation on NCDs, a global thought leader on NCD policy and practice, a convener and mobiliser of the NCD civil society movement, a partner to governments and the World Health Organization and other United Nations agencies, and an advocate for meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs.

Job description 

The Capacity Development unit seeks a Capacity Development Officer to support the implementation of the Our Views, Our Voices initiative, specifically the emerging capacity development work on equity. The Our Views, Our Voices initiative is a flagship initiative of the NCDA and people living with NCDs dedicated to promoting the meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs in the NCD response, supporting and enabling individuals to share their views to take action and drive change. It seeks to break down stigma and discrimination, equipping people living with NCDs with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to be change agents at local and global levels. 

Designing equitable solutions for NCDs requires reaching those left furthest behind, adopting rights-based approaches, and applying principles of meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs to redress power imbalances. Putting people and communities at the centre allows to identify how different drivers and lived experiences interact and to identify solutions to the barriers faced in accessing care across the continuum and in achieving equity. 

NCDA recently published an NCD Equity Framework to provide community advocates with an introduction to what health equity means in the context of NCDs and adding an equity lens to advocacy on NCDs. It identifies eight priority areas for advancing health equity for NCDs addressing common barriers to equity. To accompany the Framework NCDA has produced a Practical Guide. To support civil society and community advocates operationalize a health equity lens for NCD advocacy, NCDA has developed an accompanying Practical Guide for NCD Community Advocates. This guides advocates to develop an NCD Equity Report using an NCD Health Equity Assessment Tool to establish a foundation for advocacy efforts in this area. 

The Capacity Development Officer will support the roll-out of the equity work with national alliances via a new grant to support national alliances conduct an NCD equity assessment, produce an NCD equity report and add an equity lens to advocacy efforts in-country to support more equitable NCD responses and ensure the most vulnerable populations are reached. The role will strengthen capacity of national alliances by supporting the delivery of training on equity and broader Our Views, Our Voices training. The role will also provide support to global advocacy and accountability efforts ensuring close linkages with national level work on the theme of equity. 

The Capacity Development Officer will work with people living with NCDs, Our Views, Our Voices advocates, national and regional alliances, the Capacity Development unit, colleagues in the policy, advocacy, accountability and communications units, and other stakeholders for the fulfilment of its responsibilities. The ideal candidate will bring an understanding and experience of advocacy, global health and equity, communications, grant administration and overall programme management.

This position is possible thanks to NCD Alliance’s partnerships with Bristol Myers Squibb and with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and is subject to yearly renewal. The role is based in London, UK, and is open to UK citizens and other applicants who already possess a valid work authorisation. The Capacity Development Officer would be mainly home-based/remote with the expectation to work from the London office 1 day a week. 

Core responsibilities 

Support the Capacity Development unit in grant administration duties, including grantee communications, grant awards and compliance, grantee reporting and monitoring and evaluation. 

Support the organisation of the Our Views, Our Voices equity trainings, webinars, and events as required, including participant support, administrative functions, supporting curriculum development and evaluation. 

Support advocacy capacity of national and regional NCD alliances by aligning the Our Views, Our Voices initiatives with the NCDA Advocacy Institute. 

Support global advocacy and accountability efforts, as led by the Policy, Advocacy and Accountability unit ensuring linkages with national and regional level work. 

Provide information on country level equity work in support of NCDA’s partnerships and membership efforts to leverage and further NCDA’s work in this area. 

Support meaningful involvement of people living with NCDs at national, regional, and global level, boosting ongoing advocacy efforts and linking in with ongoing work part of the NCD Advocacy Institute. 

Provide written content to promote and support the Our Views, Our Voices initiative, particularly on the theme of equity, through NCDA communication channels, including the Our Views, Our Voices digital platform and support the development of key knowledge resources. 

Stay current on health equity issues, best practices, and emerging trends on the topic of health equity. 

Maintain regular communications with relevant key stakeholders, including regional and national NCD alliances, Our Views, Our Voices advocates for advocacy and network updates relating to the initiative, as well as for mobilisation in relevant global opportunities. 

Handle administrative responsibilities and Capacity Development work as needed. 

Provide support at capacity development meetings as required, including administrative and content development support. 

Look for opportunities to showcase the Our Views, Our Voices initiative in events and platforms. 

Experience and skills 

• Advanced university degree in public health, international relations, public policy, or similar, with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant job-related non-profit experience. 
• Demonstrated interest and understanding of health equity and social determinants of health; knowledge of global health and noncommunicable diseases would be ideal. 
• International work experience highly desired, as well as professional knowledge of advocacy, grant administration, policy and/or programmes 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international team environment.

This is a key role responsible for the project management of professional practice in relation to our members' continuing professional development (CPD) and Chartered status.

• Oversee the promotion of best practices in professional development and training for our members, particularly in supporting the achievement of Chartered designations.
• Manage the RSC's portfolio of accredited company schemes, which will involve substantial UK travel and the ability to influence existing and potential customers. This requires interacting with high level contacts at leading multinational companies.
• Contribute to the development and advancement of our professional registers, working closely with our Registration Officer.

Voice4Change England is recruiting for an Infrastructure and Development Officer who will effectively manage outreach and consultation with BME organisations and communities across England. We are looking for a proactive, motivated and outgoing person to join our Infrastructure and Development Team.

You will be passionate about social justice and addressing inequalities, can assess community needs and deliver infrastructure support addressing under-funding, and help to build sustainability and resilience in BME groups as well as help groups develop opportunities for greater impact.

The role will be remote working with monthly meetings and project related travel across England.

• Organise and deliver outreach to reach and engage BME organisations and be informed by them on needs and issues.

• Organise roadshows and other events to engage and consult with BME organisations on particular issues and themes that emerge from outreach and consultation.

• Liaise with external agencies and service providers to help broker increased inclusion of BME organisations.

For more than 50 years, the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) has been the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential. The BDA is established as the leading dyslexia charity in the UK.

Unfortunately, the need for our support and services is high. Although awareness of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties has grown, there are ongoing and widening gaps in access to the identification of dyslexia and the provision of expert learning support. Our national Helpline is busier than ever, supporting almost 5,500 people each year, reminding us on a daily basis why we must keep fighting for the rights of our beneficiaries.

Against a challenging backdrop for so many organisations, last financial year we saw continued growth in income from fundraising and training. We invested in growing our team and identified five strategic objectives for the period 2023-2026, and activities are currently underway to deliver these priorities.
