Volunteers are vital to our charity, the provide over 100,000 hours of support a year to our work. As our charity’s volunteer programme has grown over the last few years, we need to increase our capacity to recruit and better support our volunteers.
This role is focus on improving the support with give to our volunteers who care for our dogs and pups in training. There we are not just looking for someone who is experienced working with volunteers and is great with people, but someone who has presentation or teaching skills. So they can talk to groups of volunteers to help them develop the skills and confidence to have a positive experience and impact when volunteering with our charity. Candidate who have a good knowledge of dogs would be a real advantage.
Recruitment of new volunteers is also a key part of this role and so we will require the post holder to manage activity to achieve this, including some occasional weekend and evening work at specific recruitment events.
We are recruiting a Project Coordinator with the Learning and Skills team at the Institute of Physics on a fixed term basis for 18 months. This is a full-time position, although a part time request will be considered, with scope for flexible working across 35 hours a week.
This new position will support the Learning and Skills team in its mission to build a thriving, diverse physics teaching community and will see you working across multiple projects to help ensure that all people, no matter their background or where they live, have access to world-class physics education and training.

What will I be doing?
- Project coordination – working with the Implementation Manager, you will provide support for a number of projects across the department.
- Stakeholder management for the IOP School Affiliation scheme & Community of Physics Teaching.
- Event management - this will involve supporting online and in-person events, managing event bookings, liaising with event venues and event contributors, managing budgets, liaising with colleagues for promotion and evaluating impact.
Projects you work on may include:
- Administration of our physics teaching community. responsibilities will include the maintaining of electronic mailing lists, the drafting of e-newsletters and the organisation of in-person community events.
- Coordinating the Physics Teacher Educator programme - a programme designed to develop those who work to support teachers of physics. Responsibilities include managing relationships with participants, providing support as they progress through the programme.
- Management of the IOP Affiliation Scheme: a paid-for service to support teachers which includes the provision of the IOP publication “Classroom Physics”. Responsibilities include managing subscriptions, invoicing schools, and maintaining mailing lists.
Who will I work with?
- You will be line managed by the Implementation Manager and work with them on projects across the Department.
- You will support the Strategic Lead for Retention and Professional Community and Strategic Lead for Pedagogy and Professional Practice in the delivery of their projects.
- In the delivery of external events you will support and work with our Professional Support Coaches who are based across England and Wales

In the context of rising levels of inequality, the media and policymakers need to hear from the people whose lives are most affected. In this role, you will support user-led organisations campaigning for systemic change to speak truth to power.
Our six-month strategic communications training programmes are designed to support charities and community organisations to amplify their voice, mobilise support and influence meaningful change. These programmes include in-person and virtual training, mentoring and support from industry experts, and tailored digital resources.
This role will directly manage our Stronger Voices programme, ensuring the smooth delivery of the programme, including managing our cohort of equalities organisations; overseeing the budget and timeline; managing our relationships with funders, trainers and partners; and impact evaluation and reporting.
You will also oversee our other thematic programmes (currently Communicating Climate). You will line manage the Project Manager of Communicating Climate and a Project Coordinator.

The Role
The purpose of the School Service Leader role is to provide support to pupils in schools with their social and emotional achievement, with a particular focus on key stage 2 in primaries, and key stage 4 in secondaries.
Training will be provided to all successful candidates to ensure you have the skills to support school-based interventions.
Key relationships will include:
- Working closely with a team of 5-7 full-time mentors or other School Service Leaders
- Impact Officers, who you are typically based alongside in school two days a week, providing line management support
- Colleagues, school staff and pupils
Depending on the needs of your school and team, you will:
- Delivering interventions to pupils - The School Service Leaders will focus the first half of their placement on helping KS2 or KS4 pupils get or remain on track, by providing a range of targeted interventions; including delivering behaviour and attendance coaching encouraging pupil engagement and social development to promote a positive learning environment. You will also provide mentoring around attendance and behaviour.
- Maintaining a strong relationship with the school - You will assist the Impact Officer (line manager) to maintain a successful school relationship and ensure prompt and accurate data collection.
- Assisting with the support of Mentors - The second half of the placement will require carrying out the duties outlined in above and also assisting with the management and support of a team of mentors who are volunteering.

Are you interested in contributing to the chemical sciences community's efforts to improve the world for everyone?
We are looking for a Programme Manager, Inclusion and Diversity to join the Global Inclusion team on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026.
You will be an in-house expert on key issues for the chemical sciences, familiar with relevant data, reports and strategic policy areas. You will develop and support the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)’s diversity policies, procedures and activities to ensure that we deliver our strategy and will work closely with RSC members and other stakeholders who have expertise in this field.
You will lead new and ongoing projects and work with other teams throughout the organisation, including membership, policy and evidence, outreach and industry to ensure that diversity is embedded in all our work. You will work with the Inclusion and Diversity team and with the Global Inclusion team to deliver the highest impact to our community.
The role will involve the responsibility to oversee the agreed budget for specific projects.

To support the 5 year Business Strategy, ShelterBox has launched a full Business Systems Transformation (BST) project which will deliver end to end functionality covering CRM, ERP, Supply Chain, Project Management and HR/Payroll. ShelterBox is seeking someone with strong organisation, project management and communication skills who can work with a range of people across our organisation. They should be able to prioritise and manage their workload, demonstrating a strong attention to detail. About the role
This role is vital for CARAS’ presence in the sector. Our communications have grown in quality and reach over the last several years, and we now have a recognisable visual style and verbal tone. Our communications utilise several social media platforms, reaching a range of audiences via LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and instagram. We also have growing links with local press. In addition, this role also has responsibility for our newsletter to supporters, having a direct impact on our fundraising capabilities.
The role includes collaboration with other staff members, working with programme staff to craft and share up to date stories of our work and its impact on the lives of our community members, and on the wider policy environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE
With a UK General Election due within the next 10 months, there are going to be more opportunities than ever for young people to better understand and participate in the democratic system.
The post holder will manage our ‘Exploring Elections’ programme which supports young people to register to vote in schools and colleges. The post holder will recruit and manage a network of freelance facilitators to deliver in-person voter registration workshops and events. This role will also include some delivery of in-person and online presentations and workshops to support young people to register to vote and to vote.
You will also work with the Director and Democracy Classroom Project Coordinator to support the delivery of training for teachers and youth practitioners so they can help their young people engage in the General Election and democracy.
The post holder will:
- Recruit, manage and support a group of freelance facilitators across the UK who will deliver voter registration activities.
