About the Role

As a key member of the Strategy and Impact Directorate, you will establish and lead one of our strategic programmes and focus on building key relationships, developing a portfolio of projects and helping us achieve our strategic ambitions.

Whichever Programme you lead, you will have experience of:

· Leading complex multi-partner and stakeholder programmes in the VCSE or public sector

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. You will have specific responsibility for:

The Youth Environmental Service is looking for someone special to join our young and growing team. Someone who can come in as right hand to the Programme Director, with the energy and experience to thrive in a boldly ambitious social enterprise start-up.

As Head of Delivery, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of YES. You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering proofs of concept that demonstrate the programme’s viability and potential, paving the way for it to scale nationwide by 2030.

Initially on a six-month contract, but with the option to extend, your first focus will be on laying the groundwork for our next proof of concept, designing the programme, identifying partners and securing funding that will allow us to create up to 50 roles in a specific region (TBC once in role) in 2025.

Longer term, we're looking for someone who can:

• Deliver Proof of concepts: Design, develop and deliver future projects that support the creation of new paid placements in different regional hubs across the country. Building on lessons from our first pilot we need to continue to refine what YES does, how it works, all with the goal of building a body of compelling evidence that will shape how we scale our vision.
• Own the 'Product': We need a clear, accessible, and compelling proposition for how we do what we do and why it works. You’ll be responsible for keeping hold of that core product, and making sure it doesn’t get diluted as the programme begins to scale.
• Secure funding: Engage with funders, big and small, to bring in the financial support required to deliver our proofs of concept. We’ll need to experiment with a more sustainable long-term funding model, so you’ll need to be able to explore new approaches to funding placements, working with a range of different funders and through different funding approaches.
• Build a coalition: We don’t want to do this alone. You’ll need to engage nature, net zero and circular economy organisations as well as delivery partners, creating a collaborative network of organisations who can work together to deliver our programmes and create the foundations on which we can scale in the future.

ROLE PURPOSE

As our Executive Assistant (Maternity Cover, 0.8 FTE, Fixed term for 12 months), you will play a crucial role in developing and supporting our charity and strengthening our administration and governance. You will be providing flexible assistance primarily to our CEO, in the planning and delivery of their workload. You will also provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, Trustee Board and other structured groups which shape the charity’s strategy and activities, for example our Clinical Advisory Group.  As such, you will have the opportunity to work with the entire Student Minds team and a variety of stakeholders across the health and higher education sectors.

Key responsibilities:

Chief Executive Officer assistance

• Email and calendar management: helping to prioritise demands, responding to correspondence on behalf of the CEO and following up with contacts post-meetings.
• Arrange meetings and itineraries and coordinate travel as required.
• Stakeholder management support: utilising CRM to maintain updated databases for organisational contacts; support with the completion of contracts and registering purchase orders with suppliers,where the CEO is the lead contact.

Meeting management

• Plan and coordinate relevant meetings to ensure they are purposeful and relevant. These will include Board meetings, Senior Leadership Team Meetings, Leadership Group meetings and any other general committee meetings.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for all meetings, arranging suitable meeting premises or software, preparing and circulating agendas and meeting papers in consultation with the relevant participants (e.g. Chair of the Board, CEO and Senior Leadership Team).
• Coordinate catering requirements and liaise with the finance team to make purchases.
• Take high-quality and accurate meeting minutes and circulate them for appropriate approval and sign-off.
• Ensure prompt follow-up with agreed action points and follow through with ongoing delivery of commitments.

Governance support

• Provide administrative support where applicable to meet the charity’s requirements with
• Companies House and the Charity Commission.
• Support with Trustee recruitment, induction and training.
• Support the charity’s continuous improvement and compliance using tools such as the Governance
• Code.

Senior Leadership Team coordination

• Support with coordinating multi-stakeholder meetings, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support members of the Senior Leadership Team or their guests with the use of our core systems and software (Google Workspace, Google Meet, Slack, Mural, Zoom).
• Process any travel expenses for the Senior Leadership Team.
• Manage charity records: provide historical reference by supporting procedures for the retention and disposal of records.
• Welcome guests and provide tours of facilities or support guests to use online meeting software where required.

Other duties

Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)

Location: Anywhere in the UK, we are a remote-first organisation

Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard.  We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society.  We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time.  Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

You’ll have

• A minimum of two years of experience in trust fundraising
• Demonstrable success in securing four and five-figure gifts
• Experience in managing funder relationships, and developing them into longer-term partnerships
• Strong research skills to help identify suitable prospects whose mission aligns with Parentkind
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent communication skills - strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written applications, and proposals and deliver impactful presentations

Then this could be the role for you. At the Digital Poverty Alliance, we are looking for our new Policy & Insights Manager. You must be able to inspire us and our partners and spearhead our public affairs work, including through our National Delivery Plan to unite action to end digital poverty by 2030.

We bring together charities, corporates and government to address the underlying issues stopping families gaining full access to digital services such as education, healthcare and employment. We seek social change through our National Delivery Plan, whilst also delivering solutions in local areas that help real people and provide evidence for change. 

This is an exciting, high profile and fast-paced role, joining our small team and working alongside partners, National Delivery Committee members and our wider stakeholders to effect real change for people. You will report directly to the Chief Executive, working alongside our Head of External Affairs.

A big part of our social change ambition is delivered through our public affairs work; influencing policy makers so that our ambitions are shared with government, companies and with everyone able to deliver to our vision of a world where everyone is able to connect successfully with the digital world where and when they want to.  You will also be responsible for drafting white papers, analysing trends and data, and identifying new insights.  You will support our Industry Forum, working with existing and new members to broaden the group.

The DPA aims to work through partners in delivering to our core mission and, as such, we retain only a small core team with support from our PR agency. As such, you’ll lead on delivering our policy and public affairs work, from briefing MPs to developing our policy positions.

Whilst the role is remote based, you will regularly need to attend in-person meetings and events in central London (daytime and evening), as well as undertaking travel across the UK. Given the need to attend meetings in Westminster and Whitehall, you will need to live within commuting distance of London.

Key focus areas

• Building relationships with public, private and third sector organisations, including the wider DPA community.
• Working to convene and collaborate with organisations and individuals committed to ending digital poverty.
• Work with colleagues across local, regional and national governments and across political parties to advocate for policies to promote digital inclusion.
• Undertaking research and analysis to understand digital poverty and the impact of policies to address it.
• Managing policy and research projects including the ongoing development of the national delivery plan and supporting ‘proof of concept’ projects.
• Developing commercial and research partnerships with organisations and supporting the development of the industry forum.
• Communicating the DPA vision and perspective through verbal and written communication.

Can you ensure the safety and security of our humanitarian health teams as they deploy around the world?

UK-Med is a humanitarian NGO that has been responding to disasters for over thirty years. We prepare and equip medical teams, both in the UK and worldwide, so they are ready to respond when epidemics, conflict and natural disasters hit. When Ebola struck West Africa in 2014 we recruited and trained UK doctors and nurses who helped local medical teams and other NGOs to bring the outbreak under control. We are core partners, providing the clinical component and key support structures of the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) in line with WHO standards.

We are recruiting a Head of Security to ensure effective safety and security arrangements are in place for the UK EMT. Our new Head of Security will lead on strategic and operational management of safety and security for the UK EMT. You will design, draft and disseminate overarching safety and security plans and crisis management plans and attendant structures, and will advise Team Leaders in the field including deploying with large responses as required. It is a standalone role and you will be responsible for all areas of security management.

Our ideal candidate will bring significant security expertise developed through significant experience working in the humanitarian sector (expected to be at least 5 years) including in insecure environments, and who is willing to spend up to 40% of their time on deployment as part of our responses.
