We have a great opportunity for someone to join us a Public Affairs Manager in Wales responsible for driving Cancer Research UK's public affairs work in Wales, leading our work with the Welsh Government, Welsh Parliament/Senedd Cymru, and key NHS Wales bodies to influence along our policy priority areas. Managing one officer, the role will be an important member of the Devolved Nations Public Affairs team and the wider Policy Department, ensuring opportunities to influence are taken up to have impact for people affected by cancer in Wales.

Managing the charity's public affairs activities in Wales, build our profile among politicians and officials, and ensure our policy messages are heard at every level.
Leading Welsh public affairs planning and work closely with the Policy Development, Public Affairs and Campaigns, Communications, Strategic Evidence, and Clinical Engagement teams.
Using knowledge and understanding of the Welsh political and policy environment to proactively seek opportunities to grow the charity's influence and drive forward our policy priorities.
Managing one Public Affairs Officer for Wales, overseeing our relationships and influencing in the Welsh Parliament/Senedd Cymru, including our work as secretariat of the Cross Party Group on Cancer.
Acting as a media spokesperson for policy matters in Wales.
Leading on relationship management with key political and policy stakeholders in Wales, ensuring the charity engages effectively and in a joined up way.
Overseeing the delivery of impactful communications with Welsh stakeholders, including briefings, speeches, blogs, social media content, reports, letters, emails and consultation responses.
Oversee the delivery of a programme of events and activities to engage with key political and policy audiences.
Support the work of the Senior External Affairs Manager (Devolved Nations) and play a key role in the management cohort across the Department.

Essential:
Excellent understanding of the political environment and experience in successfully influencing for change in Wales.
Excellent political judgement, with commitment to neutrality and ability to work across the political spectrum.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, and strong experience of influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent communications skills (written and oral), including the ability to write with a methodical, analytical and concise style.

Covering Wales and the Midlands, the Area Fundraising Manager will be directly responsible for the strategic direction, planning and day-to-day management of all community fundraising for your geographical area.

One Million Mentors is looking to hire a full time Technical Lead to ensure the smooth running of its technology infrastructure. About One Million Mentors:
One Million Mentor's (1MM) is an exciting startup within a larger charity called Uprising Leadership. Its mission is to transform the process of mentoring for all in the UK. We aim to train, recruit and connect a million mentors to a million young people in order to increase youth employability, support social action and help break down social barriers.
1MM has now developed a new safe and secure virtual mentoring offer for both mentors and mentees (aged 18 to 25 years old) which includes; sign up onto the platform, completing a profile, undertaking mandatory online mentoring training, attending a mandatory online workshop facilitated by experts, matched digitally and then meeting for one hour once a month via video conferencing. 1MM also provides ongoing online support to mentors and mentees by delivering relevant employment/careers and wellbeing related workshops on a monthly basis. Pre - pandemic mentoring took place face to face for one hour, once a month for up to a year on the site of youth partners. We have established 2,000 mentoring relationships partnering with over 200 employers and 100 youth partners.
The Role:
As Technical Lead, you will manage the delivery of technology capabilities through your own technical ability, manage outsourced vendors and direct resources as they become available. The Technical Lead will also monitor satisfaction, ensure on-time delivery, minimise outages and measure against defined targets. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cardiff Women's Aid, this fantastic charity are working to prevent and respond to domestic and sexual violence and all other forms of violence against women and girls. The IPA will need to provide a high-quality frontline service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse and wider VAWDASV issues. Delivering a range of crisis intervention, early intervention and prevention work, intensive support, and accommodation-based support. Please note the service is 24/7 so we need people who can and will work outside normal office hours.
Due to the sensitive nature of the charity’s work this vacancy is open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
Key responsibilities
Identify and assess the risks and needs of service users using the CWA specialist intervention toolkit.
Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information in relation to legal options, housing, health, finance and recovery.
Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
Comply with GDPR/data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
Out of hours responsibilities not limited to:
Answering calls coming into the service
Responding to police call outs within the hour.
Contacting all referrals in a timely manner.
Attending the Intake and Assessment facility when a new resident access accommodation.
Completing an assessment of risk and need with all referrals.
Person responsibilities
Have a good understanding of domestic violence/ abuse including the impact of domestic violence/ abuse on victims and their children.
Have theoretical, practical, and procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse and their children.
Understand child protection issues, how to respond to effectively safeguard, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic violence/ abuse and their children.
Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
Volunteer/Training Coordinator
Cruse Bereavement Care (Registered Charity Number 208878) is the largest UK Bereavement Charity providing specialist website, telephone, email and face-to-face (online currently due to the pandemic) bereavement support for adults, children and young people.
We have a new vacancy for full time (35 hours per week) Volunteer/Training Coordinator based in our Wales Hub. The Volunteer and training coordinator will ensure all areas in the Hub sustain volunteer numbers through effective volunteer recruitment. They will also ensure that all volunteers are trained and developed in accordance with the agreed standards of Cruse Bereavement Care.
This role is office based however due to COVID restrictions, staff are currently working from home.
