ROLE OVERVIEW

Working closely in a small and dedicated team, this is a critical position that will ensure the recruitment, engagement and progression of women who take part in our empowerment programmes. 

Location: SHED co-working space for 2 days a week or at venues in London for our core programme with women and option to work remotely 1 day a week 

Salary: £22,800 for 3 days a week (£38,000 FTE) plus a 5.25% staff pension subject to employee contribution of 1.75% 

Hours: Normal working hours are 9:30am-5:30pm 

Holiday: 15 days per annum (FTE 25 days)

Contract: 6 months (3 months probation) 

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure:

• Effective outreach for recruitment onto our programmes
• That women’s programmes run smoothly and that their participants are motivated and supported to complete them through to graduation
• That those women who require 1-1 time with you are provided with this to ensure their safety and to make any referrals to external agencies where required
• All those we work with for the benefit of women on the programmes are engaged eg. short work placement hosts, mentors and venues for activities
• That evaluation data is collected and provided to evaluators/ researchers who edit final annual reports for programmes
• All data is kept accurate, appropriate and secure

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Timetabling online and face-to-face outreach to ensure women are recruited onto programmes in a timely way
• Being the key safeguarding lead at Friday workshops and ensuring that you make 1-1 time for any women who require it (alerting the Head of Operations and People and the CEO and wider team any issues or concerns that need addressing)
• Liaising with the Programmes Coordinator on the timely production of workshop materials and any other course content useful for participants
• Maintaining excellent relationships with workshop providers
• Ensuring that the Programmes Coordinator is across needs for any 1-1 therapy referrals between women and our float of freelance therapists
• Conducting evaluation surveys with women at the start, end and 6 months after they graduate and ensuring all evaluation data is provided to the freelancer responsible for collating the impact of our programmes annually in a final report, as well as providing any data required by the CEO for grant reports
• Signing off on mentor-mentee matches with the Partnerships Manager who recruits mentors
• Working closely with the Partnerships Manager to ensure they are across which kinds of short expenses/ paid work placements with employers women want to access

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be someone who is naturally warm/ a people person, compassionate and enabling, and who also has fantastic project management/ organisational skills. You may come from a senior youth worker background or other front line organisations working with young vulnerable adults.

Essential:

• Substantial senior experience working with young, including vulnerable, adults
• Proven track record of project/ programme management experience to deliver successful learning/ educational events/ activities for young people
• Creative thinker with experience of conducting successful outreach for young people
• Experience of safeguarding with vulnerable individuals
• Exceptional people and relationship-building skills with those from a range of different backgrounds eg ranging from young women for our programmes to employers and other stakeholders who engage with our work and participants 
• Excellent written and verbal communication 
• Highly organised multi-tasker, with a personality that works calmly under pressure and with own initiative
• Proof of strategic programme leadership

• Trained as a First Aider

The role

As Community Coordinator, your role will focus on the growth and sustainability of the FareShare Go programme, through maximising relationships and adding value to create the best experience for our charity community. The successful candidate will be an exceptional communicator, with an approachable nature who will play a vital role in developing and maintaining charity and retailer relationships, plus raising awareness of FareShare Go across your local area. 

Main areas of responsibility

• Charity account management: You will carry out virtual calls and in person visits with new and existing charities, and be responsible for ensuring that coverage KPIs are reached and maintained for both new and existing retailers. Using your analysis of charity needs, plus your knowledge of retailer and store profiles, you will use these visits to maximise the offer to charities, ensuring the service meets their requirements. 
• Community Capacity Building: As part of the Building of relationships with charities, you will seek opportunities to enable and empower charities to increase their capacity and ability to take more food, to ultimately increase the redistribution of surplus food to those in need. 
• Sustainability and Compliance: You will work with your Regional Manager and team to identify stores where re-engagement activities are needed to improve charity coverage and charity compliance. You will work to maximise the amount of food collected by charities with lower levels of compliance. You will also be responsible for undertaking food safety reviews with charities to ensure compliance. 
• Retailer Engagement: You will play a key role in maintaining strong retailer relationships across your region. You will take an active role in any meet and greets with retailers, where required. Plus, you will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with the relevant retail stakeholders in your region, sensitively dealing with any issues in a professional manner, as and when they arise. 
• FareShare Network Engagement: We aim to become 'oneFareShare’. These roles are an integral part of our FareShare network and you will partner closely with the Regional Centre(s) in your areas. About the Foundation:

The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.

Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.

The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme.  It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.

- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.

- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.

- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.

- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.

- Organise any events, programmes necessary to the scholars.

- Use data to track progress and drive improvement; proactively manage risks; and ensure effective use of the Foundation’s resources and budgets allocated to you.

Governance:

Purpose of This Role:

This is a pivotal role to support NASP’s strategic aims to promote and spread social prescribing at a local, national, and international level.

The purpose of this role is to provide operational support and act as point of contact for the organisation’s Finance and People functions, as well as providing Programme support across the organisation, ensuring smooth running and continual improvement of NASP’s processes.

Responsibilities:

Finance

• Act as first point of contact for Finance enquiries, both internally and externally
• Manage the Finance mailbox, ensuring queries are dealt with efficiently
• Co-ordinate day-to-day financial operations, including processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense claims, reconciliations, etc.
• Overseeing virtual card system (Soldo) for NASP employees
• Supporting CEO, Director of Operations (DoO) and Director of Finance (DoF) on budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and year end process as required
• Working with external Finance provider (Carpenter Box) to support processes
• Attending regular finance catchups, supporting these meetings and providing feedback on issues & processes

People, HR & Recruitment

The Hammersmith and Fulham service comprises of one high support hostel and two medium support hostels, housing 24 people experiencing mental ill health who may also have other complex support needs including substance use and offending behaviour or who may present with behaviours which can challenge.

About the role:

The primary role of the project is to enable clients to understand their emotional and mental health needs and manage these effectively. The Project Worker will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop & manage relationships, build social networks and access education, training or employment, by completing comprehensive needs and risk assessments with clients and identifying short-term objectives.

The projects provide support 24 hours a day and are staffed by a Night Concierge and Project Workers, this requires regular weekend working. All work undertaken will be in line with planned support. Staff are responsible for making sure that clients are actively involved in the process and that the support offered is full and holistic.

About you:

• Demonstrable experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems and other complex needs.
• A demonstrable understanding of Mental Health Legislation and how it can be applied.
• A good understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to undertake comprehensive risk assessments related to this.
• A working knowledge of Housing Management as applied to a residential setting, and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with various forms of tenure including excluded licenses.
• A demonstrable understanding of the Recovery Model, and the ability to engage and motivate people to move towards independence and inclusion.
• A proven ability to work in partnership with external stakeholders, particularly community mental health services and/or substance use services.
• A proven ability to create and deliver SMART action plans with clients through high quality risk and needs assessment.

Haringey Migrant Support Centre is a community-based organisation, with over a decade of experience supporting migrants in Haringey and neighbouring boroughs.  We provide free and professional advice, casework, referrals and signposting on issues relating to immigration, housing and welfare. • Manage and develop the Lead Coach and Graduate Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development. This includes weekly 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
• Equip your team to drive change through a data informed approach, and keep them accountable to agreed targets for the Spear Programme

Relationship management [20%]

• Manage great relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, donors, and your Board of Trustees
• Embed into your local church; working closely with your Spear Trustees and congregation, and actively participating in their mission and events
• Partner with the Spear Trustees and assist in implementing their funding strategy by helping to build corporate and donor relationships. For example, by hosting prospective donors in the Training Room

Delivery of the Spear Programme [20%]

• Support group and 1-1 coaching with numerous 16-24-year-olds: equipping them with practical work-ready skills and resilient mindsets
• Provide guidance to the Lead Coach in the training room when dealing with behavioural and safeguarding situations and upskill coaches with consistent coaching feedback
• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and over significant barriers to employment

Operations [10%]

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

 We are recruiting a Project Coordinator to oversee the delivery and development of a flagship Community Wellbeing Project, which operates in partnership with Brent Council. The project is a Community Hub hosted in a community space in Stonebridge (not in Sufra’s existing premises). Members of the project can access a Community Shop, a Community Café and Kitchen, and holistic support in the form of Advice casework and workshops. The objective of the project is to deliver food aid alongside wraparound holistic support in way that improves the financial, physical and mental wellbeing of its members, who are struggling with the cost of living.

This collaborative project has been made possible due to the support of multiple partners and has already proven highly successful. It is likely to form the basis of a new model of support for people experiencing vulnerabilities that will be replicated across Brent and possibly elsewhere in London.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the delivery of the project, ensuring both the shop and the café operate effectively and in accordance with agreed standards and procedures. The successful candidate will help shape the project in the months ahead, whilst supporting guests, collecting data, and monitoring and evaluating the project. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy and varied environment, managing multiple priorities at the same time. They will have experience in a customer-facing role, dealing with the general public and managing volunteers. It would be beneficial for the post holder to have experience supporting vulnerable people with complex needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members that sign onto the pilot project, and will be representing the organisation to external partners. The MARAC Coordinator will coordinate, administer, and manage the operation of the MARAC. One of the main purposes of the role is to bring together agencies to ensure that local systems are truly keeping survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account, and preventing domestic abuse. A key principle of the post is respecting the independence of each agency and ensuring the MARAC’s key principles are survivor’s and children’s safety, offender accountability and giving a clear message that domestic abuse is s crime that will not be tolerated. The post holder will be located in Brent, and will meet MARAC partners in a variety of settings in the community. The post holder will also spend time raising awareness of the service, domestic abuse, and the MARAC in addition to training agencies on the MARAC and inducting new MARAC representatives on the MARAC.

The post holder will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, of best practice in supporting survivors of domestic abuse, and of the MARAC. The post holder will also have a good understanding of managing a project.

About You:

To be successful as the MARAC Co-ordinator you will need the below experience and skills:

C4WS Welfare Coordinator Advert 2024:

C4WS Homeless Project (registered charity, no 1189622) which provides support to people experiencing homelessness year-round, through a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, mentoring scheme, hosting scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently.

What We Do:

Every winter, we work with a number of churches in the London Borough of Camden who offer their venues to us to run a night shelter. We operate from a different venue every night of the week, and run one circuit, accommodating 16 guests.

We provide camp beds and offer a hot evening meal. Our guests leave in the morning after a hot breakfast, ready to attend activities and meetings in our offices in Euston.

Advice and Support

Whilst the shelter operates seasonally, every winter, our team works year round, dedicated to offering advice, advocacy and practical support. This can be accessed by former night shelter guests, and via our weekly drop in, Friday Club. Guests can also access other services provided by C4WS including lunch, laundry and showers.

The Role:

Our small, dedicated team is looking for a Welfare Coordinator, to deliver holistic welfare support to all those who access our services. You will work alongside another member of the team to ensure that guests are supported both during and after their stay in the C4WS night shelter to ensure the stability of their move on.

You will possess a passion for working in the homeless sector, supporting those experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives and ideally have direct and relevant experience of working with this demographic, or similarly vulnerable and/or disadvantaged groups.

As well as providing Welfare Support, you will also be a presence at the shelter for up to two evenings a week during the shelter season (November – March) including weekends, and you will need to lead a team of volunteers to ensure the safe running of the shelter on those occasions.

C4WS is a small charity, that delivers an outstanding service to those who access our support. It is thanks to a wide network of referral partners, corporate and individual volunteers, plus the support of several religious communities in Camden, who we have worked with over the last 20 years, that we can have such a positive impact on a person’s life.
