We are looking for a motivated and efficient person with willingness to develop her skills to join our Youth Service team to help grow the Youth Mentoring programme. The post holder will provide key monitoring and administrative duties, provide 1-to-1 support to mentors, and help with the overall running of the programme as stated by the Mentor & Parent Liaison Manager. The Youth Mentoring programme includes up to 120 mentoring relationships annually.

We are recruiting a Programme Manager to lead our grassroots consortium Better Bethnal Green (BBG) supporting young people facing multiple/complex disadvantages in the borough. Our partners and we are specialists in transforming the life trajectories of young people who have become marginalised by local poverty, unemployment and crime – particularly those from BAME communities who are disproportionately affected by these issues.
The consortium will work to address violence in the Bethnal Green area, Tower Hamlets, London by working with key stakeholders, young people and local communities to provide a range of interventions, capacity building and support.

JOB PURPOSE:
- Working to assess, plan and implement our programmes with chosen education partners within the community.
- Develop excellent relationships with our third party practitioners, staff, volunteers and work closely with our trustees. You will also develop excellent relationships with relevant external agencies and partners and communicate with them when appropriate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To contribute to establishing support programmes within education settings and the community; focussing on the prevention of the development of mental illness and promoting good emotional wellbeing across the population.
- To support the delivery of mental health and wellbeing related programmes.
- To develop and promote collaborative multi-agency working practices by providing information and expertise to partners in professional third-sector, social care and medical services.

ESSENTIAL
- Proven ability to understand the current, complex educational environment and the needs of staff and young people within these settings.
- Knowledge of mental health issues, whether through a track record of employment or lived experience.

Summary
- To design and implement a suite of training programmes and professional learning networks for FLOURISH young leaders in education settings (primary, secondary and FE), who will be equipped to play a core leadership role in the outworking of the FLOURISH network of worshipping communities in schools/FE colleges

Maudsley Charity works primarily with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, as well as a range of voluntary and community organisations to fund ideas, big and small, that drive service improvement and support people who experience mental illness.
The charity operates primarily within the four boroughs served by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark), but the work they fund has the potential for wider impact at both national and international levels, through the sharing of the outcomes with the wider mental health community.
Their small but busy team works in a very collaborative and supportive way. They are now seeking two Grants Programme Officers to manage grant application processes and a grant portfolio, with guidance from a Programme Manager.
The ideal candidate will be self-organised and highly motivated and will have experience of grant-making processes, gained either by working at a funder or as a recipient of grant funding, they will be passionate about improving mental health and motivated by the ability of the Charity to make a difference.

Most childhood cancers are curable. We know this because survival rates in the UK and Europe regularly top 80%. But for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak with their chance of survival falling to 20%.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. We are looking for a Programme and Engagement Manager to deliver Young Westminster Foundation’s Helping Hands Programme to tackle Serious Youth Violence in North Westminster. The role is focussed on directly engaging local voluntary organisations and community members in North East Westminster who have been directly and indirectly affected by youth violence.
About Young Westminster Foundation:
The Young Westminster Foundation (YWF) was established in 2017 to support young people growing up in Westminster to have healthy, safe and bright futures. The Foundation is a cross-sector partnership, working with youth organisations, schools, businesses, funders, government and Westminster City Council and is part of the wider YPF network supporting children across North West London.
We are a membership organisation, supporting local youth organisations through grants, training, research and networking opportunities. THE ROLE:
The Programme and Engagement Manager will be responsible for delivering Young Westminster Foundation’s Helping Hands Programme to tackle Serious Youth Violence in North Westminster. The Helping Hands Programme is a VRU-funded programme set up in 2021 to address the impact of Serious Youth Violence in 3 wards in North Westminster. The programme is led by the voices of young people and community members who have been directly and indirectly affected by youth violence. A community-led fund is available for local organisations and community members to give local people ownership over creating innovative opportunities for the community.
You will be responsible for taking this work to Westminster’s Church Street ward in the North East of the borough, using the learning from the existing programme. You will directly engage with local voluntary organisations and community members, assessing their needs and supporting them in accessing opportunities already available in their area, whilst also identifying any gaps in provision. You will identify forums and proactively create opportunities and spaces through outreach for people to listen and share views.
You will work closely with our Helping Hands Programme Lead and Westminster City Council’s Integrated Gangs and Exploitation Unit (IGXU) to deliver this work, and with the entire YWF team to ensure learning from the programme is joined up with YWF’s other programmes. In particular, you will work closely with our Membership Manager and refer local organisations into our membership for further support, if applicable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local communities, including voluntary organisations, young people, parents, schools, businesses and community groups
- Build trust to ensure that communities feel comfortable in sharing and explaining their views and issues
- Oversee a steering group of local young people
- Establish a steering group (Core Community Group) in Church Street ward, made up of local practitioners working with young people and the community affected by Serious Youth Violence, taking learning from the North-West
- Create bespoke, accessible Serious Youth Violence resources for community groups and community members and give local people the opportunity to influence the direction of the Helping Hands programme
- Provide knowledge of local issues; remove barriers to communities accessing information or voicing needs; and improve understanding of the complexity of local issues
- Work closely with our Helping Hands Programme Lead, ensuring that learning from our existing Helping Hands Programme is utilised and both parts of the delivery are joined up
- Support a group of community members in leading our Helping Hands Community Fund, a funding initiative for local people by local people. This includes holding funding surgeries with community members, supporting them through the application process and managing the entire grants process
- Support our Grants Manager in assessing grant applications for YWF’s other grant making initiatives
- Work with both our Helping Hands Programme Lead and our Data and Evaluation Specialist to maintain monitoring reports, provide evidence and understand the impact of the work in Westminster, ensuring learning is shared across the whole YWF team and beyond
- Support community capacity building in response to violent incidents in conjunction with Westminster City Council's IGXU team

The RHS is a national charity with a mission to inspire everyone to grow, as it is vital to our wellbeing, the environment and the happiness of us all. In 2023 we launched the National Education Nature Park - a Department for Education funded programme empowering young people to take action on the environment as part of new measures designed to put climate change and sustainability at the heart of education. This is a GLA funded role as part of the wider DfE funded programme.
As Senior Programme Officer you will build and access networks that support education settings to connect with nature through the programme, and build skills for engaging and influencing nature on their estate. The Senior Programme Officer will also manage a programme officer to enable a broad range of schools and education settings to participate in the programme. Reporting to the Nature Park Senior Programme and Partnerships Manager, you will map schools in the London region to identify priority areas, and connect with senior school leaders across the region to engage them with the programme. You will develop partnerships and networks at a regional level with local authorities, businesses, and organisations in the education and charity sectors to provide additional support for schools and help sustain them on their Nature Park journey. You will work with the central programme team and partnership to build support systems for schools and settings that address barriers to participation, which may involve training and tapping in to existing volunteer networks and running events.

As Disaster, Risk, and Resilience (DRR) and Emergencies Programme Manager, you will work within the Global Programmes department to develop a comprehensive DRR strategy to guide all the charity’s work and will also manage the emergencies programme.
The world is becoming riskier because of environmental degradation and climate change, increasingly contracted and complex emergencies, and increasing inequality, insecurity, and endemic poverty. Increasingly, working animals and their communities need strategic support to be resilient in the face of increasingly complex, cyclical, and impactful crises whilst also reducing and mitigating against everyday risks. The charity work aims to reduce risk, build resilience, and respond to emergencies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Co-design the DRR mainstreaming approach in line with the charity’s 2023-2027 strategy. Advise on how the mainstreamed DRR approach as well as its emergencies work align with and contribute to relevant global frameworks, policies, and partner work (e.g. the Grand Bargain, the Sendai Framework, LEGS (Livestock Emergency Guidelines & Standards, etc.)
- Develop a strategy paper on working animals and approaches to DRR that support them and then lead on the deliverables and implementation plan. e.g. Help map the charity’s existing DRR and emergency response-related capacities (and compare it to required capacities)
- Identify partnerships within the humanitarian sector (or at the nexus) to support working animal welfare in natural disasters. Leveraging the One Health principles, help the charity to develop strategic partnerships with humanitarian actors to advance: a. risk and resilience proposal development and funding; and b. the capacity of country officers to develop emergency response plans and identify partners.
- Provide technical advisement in support of high quality DRR mainstreaming and emergency programming, e.g. Provide expert advice on DRR and emergencies, and linkages to working animal welfare.
The successful candidate will have proven understanding of the nexus between disaster risk reduction and environmental degradation and community engagement and at least 5 years of project management experience in the fields of DRR and/or humanitarian response.
Knowledge of global, regional, and local DRR and humanitarian relief frameworks and strategies are key, as is experience of rapid needs assessments and undertaking country and programme risk and resilience assessments.

- Initial Annual Leave allowance of 28 days’ holiday, rising to 30 days after 3 years and 33 days after 5 years, plus bank holidays and other statutory holidays; part time employees receive a pro rata entitlement. From April 1st, the annual leave benefit will be pro rata in line with a 32-hour working week.
