Katherine Low Settlement’s work with older people
Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. We provide, often in partnership, a range of projects and activities for older people including health and wellbeing; creative arts; intergenerational work; connecting people and trips/outings. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.
We work with older people to:
• Encourage active and independent living
• Reduce isolation and loneliness
• Improve well-being and prevent ill-health
• Enable older residents to be dynamic and contributing members of the Wandsworth community.
Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of dedicated part-time paid staff and volunteers, including a cook, support worker, minibus driver, and sessional workers.
- Day-to-Day Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Elders Core Service, including the lunch club, transport, social sessions, and overseeing the one-to-one work of the core team.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide a hands-on program that builds on older people's strengths and potential.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the project in collaboration with the Head of Programme.
- Budget Management: Ensure the program operates within budget constraints.
- Member Engagement: Support the planning of the core program with input from elder members and the wider team.
- Recruitment and Support: Recruit and support new and existing members (service users).
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Delivery
- Planning and Oversight: Ensure that all service output aligns with KLS' vision, mission, values, and charitable objectives. Organize and promote one-off activities throughout the year.
- Transport Management: Manage the transport offer, including route planning and pick-up schedules.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate activity records, registers, and casework notes for the core team.
- Outreach and Support: Conduct outreach work with older people in the community, oversee home visits, and manage a small caseload.
2. Staff and Volunteer Management
- Recruitment and Line Management: Recruit and manage the Outreach and Support Workers, Lunch Club Cook, and relevant social activities workers and volunteers.
- Performance Management: Use performance management and quality systems to monitor and evaluate the project's work and processes.
3. Relationships, Communication, and Networks
- Member Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with elder members.
- Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
- Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.
4. Finance
- Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.
5. Other Duties
- Professional Development: Participate in regular management supervision and annual appraisal. Identify job-related development and training needs.
- Professional Conduct: Professionally undertake roles, maintaining a high-quality standard of work in line with KLS's aims, values, and ethos.

About the role
Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.
The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.
This will span three main projects:
· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);
· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and
· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.
Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.
Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.
You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.
This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.
Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

Overview
The Programme Manager role will be crucial to the success and development of the charity. You will be responsible for the management and delivery of 3+ Worldwide Radiology projects, operating across Malawi, Ghana and The Gambia.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for quickly grasping the needs of three ongoing projects, steering them toward desired impact, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and managing risks effectively to bring these projects into shape.

The department is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating funded projects to ensure greatest impact, and providing support to fundraising teams with information on the projects the charity funds.

You will have extensive healthcare, scientific and /or research management experience and be confident operating independently to develop and take projects forward. You will also develop excellent working relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders at the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and across the Charity.

Senior Programme Manager (School Food Review)
This is a unique opportunity for a person with skills and experience in managing projects, programmes and partnerships to join a coalition of organisations striving to improve child health through improving the school food ecosystem.
Who we are
The School Food Review is a coalition of organisations spanning charities, educational organisations, caterers, unions and academics, committed to working together to improve children’s health by reforming the school food system. The group’s work is coordinated by founder members School Food Matters, Food Foundation, Bite Back 2030 and Chefs in Schools, and is supported by Impact on Urban Health.
The School Food Review has identified three areas of action required to deliver meaningful change – equitable access, fairer funding and quality assurance. Work across these three areas is delivered through focused working groups, drawing on members of the coalition. This includes public campaigning, advocacy and policy development.
The post will be hosted by Chefs in Schools; we are a young, ambitious charity that’s rapidly growing. Our mission is to improve kids' health, through improving school food & food education. Working in areas of high deprivation, we support and train school kitchen teams to serve the best, freshest and tastiest food possible, alongside meaningful food education. About you and the role
The purpose of this role is to coordinate the work of our coalition, the School Food Review, to ensure that we are maximising the potential of the skills and expertise we can draw on from members, and driving meaningful impact. You will work closely with the School Food Review’s Operational Group, made up of key personnel from the founding organisations, to ensure that the coalition delivers on its mission. Whilst employed by Chefs in Schools, your role will be focused within the coalition.
Day to day, you will project manage operational delivery across the School Food Review coalition, ensuring efficient and effective delivery against the agreed work plan, which you will be monitoring and developing in consultation with your colleagues in the operational group. You will ensure that the governance committee and broader coalition group are kept informed of progress, promptly flagging risks and identifying suitable mitigations.
You will have an understanding of the context that we operate in, education and food sectors, and a high-level understanding of the type of work that is being delivered (eg policy, campaigning and advocacy). You will be a subject matter expert in project management. Your expertise in this area will be combined with strong people skills, and the ability to manage effective partnerships with external organisations. As the Training Programmes Manager you will have oversight and responsibility for the healthcare professional training projects and activities, as well as growing the M4RD network within HCP groups and training institutions.

Job Summary

- Location: Hybrid working with office space in Oxford and London. We work with Year 10-11 students (aged 14-16) to increase their aspirations, improve GCSE attainment and to gain a greater understanding of post-18 pathways, particularly university, to make a more informed decision about their future. We run a year-long programme, starting with a week-long summer residential at partner universities, monthly coaching sessions with Universify coaches and a 3-day GCSE-focused revision residential at Spring.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Programme Manager, you will manage the Programme Team to deliver the charity’s annual residential and coaching programme and impact reporting. You will act as the primary relationship holder for all existing major programme partners, including universities and other third sector organisations. During programme delivery, you will be a part of the team’s Safeguarding Leads and work with the Programme Team to ensure the safety and care of our participants.
You will report to the CEO and work with them to build relationships with new partners, and develop the charity’s ability to expand the programme by considering its impact data, needs of partners and stakeholders, and any changes to its programme model. You will also maintain the charity’s CRM and improve programme efficiency. As the Programme Manager, you will be involved in events, fundraising activities and publicity, including supporting the Comms officer.
Main Duties
- Oversee programme delivery, including line managing the Programme Team (3 staff)
- Manage existing programme partnerships (universities, third sector organisations) and build new relationships alongside the CEO
- Manage and deliver external programmes including the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation partnership programme
- Project manage impact reporting, defining data requirements, overseeing data collection and analysis, and writing the impact report
- Work with the Communications Officer and CEO to enhance the charity’s publicity including social media, in-person events, and publicity campaigns
- Provide expertise as a Level 3 safeguarding lead as part of the safeguarding team
- Maintain the charity CRM (Salesforce) and coordinate with developers to update the CRM

- Secure knowledge and experience of child safeguarding policy and practice. Level 3 Safeguarding Lead qualification or a willingness to obtain this as part of the role

- Experience managing residential programmes or large-scale events. Experience of designing educational programmes
- Experience working with schools and universities

The Senior Programme Manager will lead a small team responsible for delivering a range of programmes designed to support educators with the delivery of financial and enterprise education to support young people to be able to learn to earn and manage their money.
Key responsibilities
- Programme Management Oversight and Line Management: Directly manage three Programme Managers, ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day delivery of a range of national educator-facing programmes. Work closely with senior colleagues to maintain coherence in programme management and delivery.
- Strategic Direction and Coordination: Coordinate strategic direction for educator-facing programmes, providing input on development and enhancement. Collaborate with various departments to provide educational and practical guidance, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Educational Expertise and Support: As part of the Senior Strategy Group, provide a high level of education sector expertise to support the ongoing development of current programmes as well as new initiatives within financial and enterprise education and support for educators (teachers, parents, practitioners and others) working with children and young people.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Representation: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as colleagues, teachers, senior leaders, funders, and evaluators. Represent the organisation externally in education, political, and partnership networks.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Budget Management: Develop and oversee processes for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting programme effectiveness. Manage programme budgets effectively in collaboration with the Head of Programmes and Services, ensuring compliance and alignment with funding requirements.
The Senior Programme Manager will have proven operational programme management experience and strategic knowledge of the development and delivery of education programmes focused on children and young people. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of key individuals and partner organisations, manage expectations effectively, and the ability to respond to differing needs. You will be a strong team player and an effective delegator in order to oversee the successful outcome of projects. The successful candidate will be operationally, politically and commercially astute with operational and financial skills, and should be able to demonstrate their success in complex project management alongside an understanding of the challenges that face educational settings.
The role is hybrid with a minimum of 4 days a month in the Young Enterprise office in either London (Russell Square) or Oxford, which are flexible to suit your needs. The role is full time (37.5 hours) and the successful candidate will be available 5 days a week. The post will be subject to satisfactory references.
