Reprieve is a UK charity founded in 1999. Reprieve uses strategic interventions to end the use of the death penalty globally, and to end extreme human rights abuses carried out in the name of “counterterrorism” or “national security”.
Reprieve works with the most disenfranchised people in society, as it is in their cases that human rights are most swiftly jettisoned and the rule of law is cast aside. Thus, Reprieve promotes and protects the rights of those facing the death penalty and those who are the victims of extreme human rights abuses carried out in the name of “counterterrorism” or “national security”, with a focus on arbitrary detention, torture, and extrajudicial executions.
The US Death Penalty Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the US death penalty area at Reprieve. You will be an integral member of the US Death Penalty Team, and will work closely with Reprieve’s Joint Executive Directors, Directors, Deputy Directors, Head of US Death Penalty Casework, and alongside Reprieve US staff, including its Deputy Director.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team [and] implementing strategies to achieve Reprieve’s goals in relation to the US death penalty. The work you will be managing will include: advocacy, investigation, strategic litigation, corporate engagement and public education focused around preventing the misuse of medicines in lethal injections and debunking the myth of the ‘humane’ execution, and casework management in support of Reprieve’s individual US death penalty cases.

This role will be responsible for the development, management and implementation of a collection of inter-related projects. These projects comprise the implementation of two of the recommendations in the IICSA Report and other related developments which the Church has been planning.
In Phase One, this programme of projects will be introduced with a group of “pathfinder” dioceses and cathedrals. Following evaluation and adjustment, Phase Two will be rolled out across the Church.
The five projects which make up this role are:
- The implementation of IICSA Recommendation 1
This is a major structural change in which the role of “Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser” changes to a new one of “Diocesan Safeguarding Officer” with greater autonomy. Supervision arrangements also change from being arranged locally to being directly supervised and quality assured by the National Safeguarding Team.
2. The introduction on a pilot basis of a “regionalised” model of support for dioceses and cathedrals in respect of safeguarding.
This is the second major, and related, structural change. In this pilot Regional Safeguarding Leads (RSLs) will be appointed to work with small groups of dioceses and cathedrals. The RSLs will supervise the dioceses’ / cathedrals’ safeguarding advisers but will also lead cross-diocese developments such as survivor engagement, sharing of expertise and good practice, joint commissioning of resources, peer review.
3.The implementation of IICSA Recommendation 8.
This involves the design and implementation of independent external auditing of the Church’s safeguarding practices.
4. The introduction of the Church’s quality assurance framework and national safeguarding standards.
The Church has a draft quality assurance framework. This now needs to be introduced into use in the pathfinder dioceses and cathedrals so that it can be further developed in readiness for implementation across the Church.
5. The development of a consistent methodology to enable dioceses and cathedrals to assess local safeguarding need and determine the resources needed to deliver good safeguarding practice.
The 42 dioceses and 42 cathedrals are responsible for the funding of their safeguarding arrangements (which include, for example, investigation of allegations, responding to survivors, training, quality assurance). The level of funding varies considerably between dioceses / cathedrals. One reason for this is the lack of a consistent methodology to assess both local need and the resources needed to achieve a good standard of safeguarding.
The role is based in the National Safeguarding Team but also links with the Church’s Project Management Office.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and co-designing (with the pathfinder dioceses and cathedrals) the projects and proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action.
- Ensuring the integrity and coherence of the projects, and its continuous alignment with organisational strategies and departmental goals.
- Developing the plans for the delivery of the individual projects, setting out the key actions, steps and timescales needed for each project, the critical paths and the co-dependencies / interfaces between them.
- Leading on the direct management and delivery of specific elements of the projects.
- Establishing effective working relationships (individually and collectively) with the key stakeholders in the pathfinder dioceses and cathedrals. This will include, in particular, bishops, diocesan secretaries, deans, cathedral administrators, and diocesan and cathedral safeguarding advisers.
- Supporting the pathfinder dioceses and cathedrals in the establishment of local project groups and governance arrangements.
- Developing arrangements for the engagement of victims and survivors of abuse in co-design and programme development.
- Managing risks to the programme's successful outcome.
- Developing the evaluation framework for Phase 1 and potentially leading the evaluation process.
- Developing the plan for roll out of the projects across the Church in Phase 2.

Changes may occur over time and you will be expected to agree any reasonable changes to your job description that are commensurate with your banding and in line with the general nature of your post. You will be consulted about any changes to your job description before these are implemented.

Part of our Strategy department, the Project Management Office at UNICEF UK is a function created to expedite the development of new Campaign ideas, opportunities or initiatives that have the potential to either change how we work significantly – or how we deliver impact for children.
We are looking for an ambitious and highly collaborative Project Manager to join our new team. At Family Action we transform lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation. We have been building stronger families since 1869 and today we work with more than 60,000 families in over 150 community based services, as well as supporting thousands more through national programmes and grants.
Tower Hamlets building Bridges is a family support service that has been present in the borough for several years, with a particular focus. The service exists to provide distinct support to families where a parent has a mental health need. Many of the families referred to the service have a high level of need and are living with a mental illness that has endured for many years. For some families this translates into a lack of prioritisation of children’s needs by the parent/s along with a range of parenting skills deficits. We provide a preventative home visiting service, which seeks to maintain the care of children in their own families and give emotional support and promote positive attachments between family members.
We are looking for a Project Manager, who will lead the day to day management, delivery and development of the service, including the management of a small team of staff, volunteers and students, providing quality and reflective supervision of the direct work with children and parents, develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including families using the service, local partners and commissioners, manage the budget and contract requirements and work with the Operational Manager on the development and evaluation of the service. You will hold overall responsibility for the quality and safeguarding practice within the service.
To be successful you will have relevant experience of delivering interventions to families with complex needs/ACE and parental mental health, to promote positive outcomes for children, family resilience and wellbeing. You must share our commitment to working collaboratively with families, building on their strengths, whilst keeping a focus on the needs of children, and be able to work flexibly outside of normal working hours, when families need the support most.
Family Action welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all that we do and know that greater diversity will lead to even greater results for families and children.
What will we offer you?
We’ll offer you flexible working hours, a generous pension scheme and leave entitlements, eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits. We have an excellent wellbeing offer and we’ll invest in your professional development with on-going quality training and career development opportunities. You’ll join an established, supportive and high-performing service and have the opportunity to thrive in an innovative, non-hierarchal organisation that values your opinion, encourages learning and has the needs of children and families at its core.
We are forward looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills then we look forward to hearing from you.

Who we are
UK Youth is a leading charity that exists to ensure all young people are equipped to thrive and
empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. We work with others to ensure that the youth sector is strengthened, supported and that provision is youth-led, evidence-informed and delivers high-quality outcomes.
UK Youth plays a unique role in addressing; the lack of investment in the youth sector, the lack of cross-sector understanding in how youth work makes a difference and the limited opportunities to embed effective solutions. These factors lead to mass inequality of access to youth services for young people. To find more about us and how we make an impact, please visit UK Youth Website.

We are a value-based, passionate and committed organisation offering a friendly working environment with lots of opportunities for professional development and socialising (even whilst we are all working remotely!) from lunch and learn sessions, staff quizzes, to virtual coffee meet ups.

We value the differences that a diverse workforce brings and are committed to inclusivity and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Our selection procedures ensure that people are treated on the basis of their relevant merits, experience, skills and abilities and that no individual receives more or less favourable treatment.
We welcome applications from groups currently under-represented in our organisation, including Black, Asian, minority ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ and persons with disabilities. We are also currently underrepresented by men and so are seeking applications from different backgrounds, cultures, age, experience and identity to bring a wide range of experience, ideas, views and insights to UK Youth.
