Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary guideline:

(Up to) £24,000.00 per annum (commensurate with experience)

Terms of Employment:

Permanent Full Time Contract (with a 3-Month Probationary Period)

Muslim Hands, an international relief organisation working in over 40 countries worldwide is looking for an experienced, creative and enthusiastic Social Media Executive to join our busy in-house team and work on a diverse range of projects that really make a difference to some of the most disadvantaged people around the world. We are seeking someone with a passion for social media who has demonstrable experience of managing a range of social media platforms and can present analytics in an insightful and digestible manner.

Working with colleagues across the organisation to build engagement with our donors, you will create and implement compelling content, be our best practice adviser and coordinate content across all our social media channels. You’ll need to be proactive, organised, user focused and an outstanding communicator.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Effectively managing and maintaining all MH social media output ensuring it complies with Muslim Hands policies and standards
  • Providing social media expertise to the organisation and working alongside the graphic design team to deliver high profile and impactful social media campaigns that drive action and engagement.
  • Developing social media campaigns and content to both complement and support our existing campaigns
  • Using social media to best advantage as a broadcast, marketing and engagement tool to meet organisational objectives
  • Coordinating social media content planning and ensuring activity is integrated into communications planning
  • Managing, developing and evaluating the reach and impact of all social media channels
  • Working with other teams to ensure social media input from donors and the public is responded to appropriately
  • Work alongside the comms and creative team to produce engaging content for our network of websites and social media platforms
  • Continually monitoring website content to ensure it remains accurate, updated and interesting and ensure our work is being shared across all SM channels
  • Provide additional copywriting support during key digital campaigns
  • To demonstrate Muslim Hands’ values and ethics in own working practices, approach and conduct
  • To support with Fundraising activities from time-to-time, committing to partake in approximately 5-Live-TV-Appeals during our peak periods.
  • To undertake any reasonable responsibilities as required by Line Manager
  • To promote and adhere to all Muslim Hands Policies, Procedures and Professional Practices

Essential:

  • Must be able to either:
    1. Provide a valid Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate (issued within the last year) when requested by Muslim Hands; OR
    2. Undertake to provide full cooperation for Muslim Hands to perform a DBS Check at the required level appropriate for this / similar role.
  • Ability to demonstrate current eligibility to work within the United Kingdom
  • Significant experience of using social media to campaign and influence
  • Experience of managing multiple social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube
  • Excellent written English and communication skills
  • Ability to distil complex points into concise, compelling copy
  • Strong strategic and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple demands/projects
  • Experience of using analytics packages and social media tools to produce traffic reports
  • Self-motivated, flexible and proactive attitude
  • Strong organisational skills i.e. ability to prioritise and plan work, set and achieve deadlines, establish and maintain monitoring systems etc
  • Experienced in using content management software such as Hootsuite or similar
  • Willingness to attend charity events and functions as and when required
  • Able to build relationships with and leverage influential bloggers and social media personalities
  • Be data driven regarding type of content and times to post
  • Flexibility regarding working hours, in particular during peak times
  • Passion for charity work and helping others

Desirable:

Possess relevant NGO/Charity experience
