Who we are
Age UK South Gloucestershire is an independent local charity. We've been working in the local community to help older people for 20 years. We have over 30 dedicated staff and around 200 volunteers helping us to deliver services and activities for older people in South Gloucestershire. We are proud to have achieved the independently audited Charity Quality Standard certification for local Age UKs in England.
We give advice
Our trained advisers offer free information and advice to older people and their families. In 2018 our advisers helped local older people to claim almost £2,000,000 to which they were entitled, which helped make transformative changes to their lives.
We befriend
Our volunteer befrienders visit lonely older people in the community who have no one to talk to. In 2018 our volunteers regaulrly visited 160 older people who would otherwise be alone.
We provide activities
Our Activity Day Centres provide a wide range of activity groups and events, giving older people the opportunity to keep active, socialise and learn new skills.
