Anawim

Who we are

Established since 1986, Anawim provides essential services for women with multiple and complex needs in Birmingham. We exist to provide women and their children with opportunities to reach their full potential and move their lives forward through improving mental health and wellbeing. We work with community partners to challenge anything which degrades and diminishes some of the most marginalised women, such as those caught in prostitution, the criminal justice system (CJS) and victims of abuse.

Anawim values inclusivity, empowerment and change. We treat every woman, and anyone who identifies as a woman, with dignity and respect. We empower women towards independence, regular employment and reintegration back into the community through engaging with services and developing new skills. Anawim seeks to bring about change for women in Birmingham, and influence change nationally for the women’s sector.
