Who we are

Care for Children has a vision to see one million orphaned and abandoned children in Asia placed into local substitute families as a positive alternative to living in institutions. 

Care for Children has been working in China for 18 years. Our team created the first set of local training materials and even pioneered many of the Chinese terms for family placement concepts. Now, family-based care is a nationally recognised practice and the Chinese government launched the latest official National Regulations on family placement rules and procedures in 2014.

The Thai project is Care for Children’s first outside of China, and is being developed as a replicable model of best practice for the SE Asia region.

As well as our project offices we have our head office based in Norwich, UK and we also have offices primarily focused on Communications and Fundraising in London, Hong Kong and USA.
