About us

Who we are

Caring for a friend or family member can be hard work, but you are not alone – there are more than 7 million carers in the UK! Our charity was founded to give unpaid carers a break from their responsibilities, by providing fully trained care support workers to support the person who needs vital care.

Carers Trust Thames provides high-quality care to help people live at home. All of our services are designed to promote independence, provide choice, and increase mental and physical stimulation wherever possible.

We support people of any age, usually from 4 to 104! We provide care for people with a wide range of conditions including physical disabilities, dementia, learning disabilities, autism, long-term illnesses and those who are frail due to age. Our home care visits are usually for an hour, so we can complete necessary tasks, spend some time getting to know the person and assist with household duties, such as washing or light cleaning.

Carers Trust Thames has been operating since 1980. Today, the charity works in South Northamptonshire, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Hillingdon, Hounslow,  Ealing, Kensington and Chelsea. We are proud of our roots as a charity founded to support unpaid carers, relieving the stresses and strains that they experience through caring for their family, friends, and neighbours. We are part of the Carers Trust national network, the UK’s largest charity that supports carers.

We are looking for friendly, practical, and reliable people to provide care in our clients’ homes and support them to get out and about.

You should have a positive attitude, common sense, and be committed to supporting others. Good communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with a variety of age groups, disabilities, and social and ethnic backgrounds. Our teams are encouraged to see their work as helping people to achieve their goals, control their own lives and make their own choices.

If you would like to make a difference to vulnerable or disabled people in your community, then apply today!
