COSMIC

Who we are

In 2020 COSMIC and the Winnicott Foundation merged under the COSMIC name to create a organisation that cares for thousands of babies and children in intensive care across Imperial NHS Trust. We support and raise funds for all the children’s and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s Hospital.

The new merged charity retained the COSMIC name, but has a new enlarged mission of “Caring for babies and children in intensive care @StMary’s @QueenCharlotte’s”.

We help fund what the NHS can't - funding specialist equipment, providing accommodation for families, training for nurses and doctors and funding internationally significant research. Despite being a small charity over the past few years COSMIC has raised £1.5m to build its own onsite and accommodation and worked in partnership on the More Smiles Appeal to raise £2m to expand and modernise our childrens intensive care unit into a world class facility. 

Working in a small dynamic team which delivers a broad range of fundraising and activities means any team member gets to develops a broad range of skills, build close relationships with donors and stakeholders and of course get to see first hand how their efforts make a difference to the lives of critically ill children and their families.
