About us
Who we are
Cumberland Lodge is a charity that empowers people, through dialogue and debate, to promote social progress towards more peaceful, open and inclusive societies.
Founded in 1947, Cumberland Lodge is based in a former royal residence in the heart of Windsor Great Park. Our charitable work is supported by income from hiring out our stunning facilities for conferences, meetings and special events.
We run an annual series of conferences, seminars, debates, workshops and retreats that addresses the causes and effects of social division. These events connect and inspire leaders and influencers, students, academics and community practitioners to challenge silo thinking and to generate ideas and recommendations that will influence policy and improve public awareness and understanding.
We also have a thriving educational programme for school children and students, and we offer mentoring and development opportunities for PhD students and early career researchers, and senior leaders from business, government, civil society, the arts and academia.
