About Deighton Pierce Glynn

DPG is a legal aid firm known for high profile civil liberties & human rights litigation. We are a friendly firm, who share a commitment to the work we do and to making the firm a great place to work.

We do cases that we think matter and which make a difference either to groups or individuals.

Recent cases include challenging government policy towards individuals in immigration detention, acting for Windrush Migrants, acting in the Grenfell Inquiry,  acting for Big Brother Watch and others in a case going to the European Court of Human Rights challenging the government’s bulk surveillance practices, challenging the Electoral Commission’s regulation of the EU Referendum, acting in inquests highlighting the failure of prisons and other state institutions to care for vulnerable residents & acting for the intervenors – Amnesty and Human Rights Watch to challenge the government’s decision to license arms exports to Saudi Arabia. We also do many cases that are less high profile but equally important to the individuals who instruct us – for example cases getting people housing, support or other services they need;  cases challenging discrimination; & cases against the police where they have acted unlawfully.

We love what we do, and we are good at it ! Not only getting great feedback from clients but also from the independent legal directories which rank law firms. In our areas of law, we are one of the best.
