Who we are
Home-Start Oxford is a local community network of trained volunteers, and expert support, helping families with young children through their challenging times.
We are there for parents when they need us most, because childhood can't wait.
We bring no judgement: just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.
Starting in the home, our approach is as individual as the people we are helping.
Volunteers, and our Family Support Worker provide one-to-one home-based support to parents and their under-5's. We also provide group sessions to support play, parenting, early learning and mental wellbeing. We aim to empower families, helping parents to grow in confidence, strenghten their relationships with their children and in the wider community.
Home-Start Oxford is an independent charity, and part of the national network of around 200 local Home-Starts and Home-Start UK, that together make up the largest volunteeer family support movement in the UK. We have been founded for over 30 years, and serve Oxford city, and the centre and West of Oxfordshire, including Wheatley, Kidlington, Woodstock, Witney, Carterton and Burford.
