About us

Who we are

Inspiring Communities Together is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) operating in Charlestown, Kersal, Seedley and Langworthy. The Organisation operates as a community anchor for the neighbourhood alongside delivery of services across Salford and beyond. Inspiring Communities Together has office and delivery space within the Innovation Forum and delivers childcare services from Yogurt Pots based at Salford Sports Village.

Our plan for the next 12 months is based on the learning gained from working through the Covid-19 Pandemic during 2020/2021. Through the changing world of the Pandemic we:

  • Recognised the value and support needs for our own workforce who have had to adapt to new ways of working, new roles and working from home.
  • Redesigned our approaches to connecting with local people through social media and online along with telephone and face to face work.
  • Reframed our working practice to focus on health and wellbeing of both individuals and the neighbourhoods in which we work.

Set out below is the programme of activity we will deliver over the next twelve months:

Start Well - Children & Families

  • We will work to ensure all children in Charlestown and Lower Kersal have access to the best possible start in life, with support to meet their developmental and educational milestones and become confident and capable learners ready to start school.
  • We recognise that for many of our families, everyday life can be a struggle. We want our parents/carers to feel able to seek information, advice and guidance from us to support them to help meet their child’s needs and aspirations as they grow and develop.

Live Well – Environment & Learning

  • We will support the delivery of resilient neighbourhoods where individuals value both where they live and their neighbourhood public green space.
  • We will support people within our communities to develop and engage in learning programmes that work for them.

Be Well – Wellbeing

  • We will provide resources and opportunities for individuals to look after their own wellbeing, providing them with the skills and knowledge to support their own wellbeing

Age Well – Age Friendly Salford

The programme has defined the followings aims:

  • The commitment of the city to support older people to stay healthy and well
  • Strong resilient communities: neighbourhood-based person -centred activity to reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation
