Who we are
New Art Studio provides a therapeutic art community for asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced trauma in their journey to this country, Art transcends language barriers and can bring out expression without the need for articulation.Members create their art with the encouragement of experienced, professional Art Psychotherapists and in the comfort of a supporting group. At NAS, the philosophy is to bring people into contact with society by way of occasional exhibitions, when those who choose to can display their art and gain self esteem and engage with supporters, other artists and members of the public.
Once a week, our members join together in their own time, with refreshments provided, and we hope that soon we may again offer English language lessons, yoga, and other activities from generous volunteers, as in preCovid times.
