About us
Who we are
North Herts and Stevenage CVS is a membership organisation that provides support for local charities, community groups and new start up projects in order to help them carry out their work effectively, and ensure that they are well represented.
As well as providing a range of information, services and support for voluntary and community groups, we also manage several local community schemes in the area. These include valuable respite play schemes for children and young people with special needs and a busy community transport scheme that provides transport for passengers needing to get to healthcare appointments.
We also run the Countywide #TeamHerts Volunteering project which promotes and champions volunteering across Hertfordshire. We support organisations with volunteer recruitment, management and retention and help them to advertise their roles as well as provide a variety of training and events.
Our most recent project, Reach Out aims to reduce loneliness in those who have recently been discharged from hospital, by linking them up with a volunteer in their neighbourhood who can offer companionship or support to help them to feel less lonely and isolated. Following a successful pilot in North Herts and Stevenage we are now Countywide.
