Who we are

Our Impact

In the last year alone we helped over 95,700 local people, across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, to Belong, Contribute and Thrive. We engaged with more than 55,400 children and young people, and ultimately supported all our service users to live life to their full potential !

Last year we:

• Tackled homelessness by providing 127,200 nights of safe secure accommodation.
• Helped 21,300 families to better communicate and understand.
• Welcomed 2,500 young people to participate in our youth club activities.
• Supported 4,000 gym members to get fitter and healthier.
• Provided 170 nursery children the opportunity to learn and develop.
• Delivered 23,200 housing related support sessions.
• Generated over £8.8 million in savings to the public purse and £4.6 in added social value.

Overall, our team of 400+ dedicated and committed team members, managers, executives, board members and volunteers worked across three counties, at over 50+ different sites, in 5 distinctly different operational areas, and collectively helped to change lives for the better.

We deliver a range of programmes and services that tackle the issues facing local people and ensure that there are opportunities for young people throughout our work, from apprentices to work experience and childcare to youthwork.

We work with all ages, faiths and backgrounds, as part of a global network of 14,000 YMCAs.

We have served the communities in Hertfordshire for more than 127 years and we reach 1000,s of people each day.
