Solihull Action through Advocacy

Who we are

Solihull Action through Advocacy exists to give a ‘voice’ to people at risk of being ignored or discriminated against so that they are able to access their full rights as citizens and have greater control over their own lives with more opportunities to make independent choices and decisions. We promote positive change within our society so that the people we support are accepted and valued members of their community. 

We enable this to happen by speaking up on a person’s behalf or encouraging them to speak up for themselves through what we call 'one to one' independent advocacy. We also facilitate a number of group work projects where people can learn the skills to become successful self advocates and be included in their local communities. Furthermore, as an organisation we promote and represent the views of the people we work with at local and national events and meetings.

Solihull Action through Advocacy started life as a volunteer organisation so we wouldn't be here today without the support of the people who offered their time to help. As such, we aim to keep volunteering support an important and valued aspect of what we do.
