Spitalfields City Farm is a community farm only a stones throw from the city of London. Sited on a former railway goods depot, the farm was started in 1978 in response to local people’s wishes to convert wasteland into allotments, having lost theirs to developers.
Today Spitalfields City Farm offers educational and play activities, skills training and workshops, animal sponsorship and volunteer work for local communities and visiting groups. The Farm is the first City Farm to be approved by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust for its work with rare British farm animal breeds. It is also home to the award winning Coriander Club run by local Bangladeshi women.
Spitalfields City Farm is a community space that inspires and that everyone can enjoy.
