About us
Who we are
What we do
We collect unwanted tools, refurbish and sort them into tool kits and send them across the world, creating sustainable livelihoods.
Daniel is a young carpenter from Uganda who received from TWAM a carpentry tool kit from which he started his own business, a kit he could never have hoped to afford. He now supports himself and as his business has grown, financed his own workshop and now employs 4 people. Several families can now afford education and healthcare and look forward to a sustainable future because Daniel was given just one of the 1700 carpentry kits each year prepared by TWAM using recycled tools collected from around the UK no one wants. Often our tool kits allow locally run projects in Africa to first build the training centres and then train people like Daniel, projects that could not start without our tools.
Why we do it
We want to support local people supporting their own communities through livelihood creating projects. We believe there is dignity through work and the ability to provide for yourself and your family. We believe entire communities can be transformed through training and the provision of tool kits and equipment.
How you can help
We have a number of different volunteer roles that you can find out about. The roles include collecting donation tools around the UK from donors, van driving, adminstration and tool refurbishment.
Thank you for your support.
