About us
Who we are
Treasures Foundation was established by our founder, Mandy, in 2009. Motivated by her own lived experience, her time spent in prison and her recovery journey, Mandy embarked on a life’s mission to understand, support and guide vulnerable women with histories of offending and addiction.
We offer a home in our properties in Newham, East London, to up to nine women at a time. Our current home is one of very few in London that provides female-only support to women of any age.
We provide a safe and supportive environment, enabling our women to recover, build healthy relationships, learn new skills, reach their full potential and ultimately go on to lead fulfilling and independent lives. We also support women in the community via a range of outreach activities, including facilitating meetings, group sessions and giving talks in prisons and other settings.
Our services are peer-led and delivered by staff and volunteers with lived experience, which offers hope and inspiration to our beneficiaries and makes everything we do accessible, relevant and successful. We get our inspiration and values from the Christian faith. The concept of ‘restoration’ underpins all the work we do and all the ways in which we engage with others.
