About us
Who we are
SOS Silence of Suicide is a small charity that is growing quickly. We support children and adults with poor emotional health, by talking, listening, conversing and helping them build resilience and confidence by talking through thoughts and feelings. Our main aim is to eradicate the shame, stigma and silence surrounding mental health and suicide through honest communication.
This year, our theme is driving compassion in society and our social media encourages this, alongside our SOS Angels project.
Since 2020, we have adapted the way our services are delivered. Sadly, our physical meetings can no longer be held, but we still work with the public and with businesses online. Additionally, we now have a support line which operates until midnight, 7 days a week and also limited email support.
SOS fed into the mental health in the workplace policy under Teresa May and have, or do, work with Government departments, retailers, housing associations, legal organisations and other charities to name a few. We are the official charity parter of World Seniors Snooker.
