About KLS Love to Learn team
Since 2004, KLS Love to Learn education team of 10 part-time staff and over 100 volunteers, have supported thousands of young refugees and their families in Battersea and the London Borough of Wandsworth to thrive in their education. Through mentoring, family support, casework and homework clubs, we provide the tailored support each young person and their family/carers needs to overcome the barriers to education they face at home and school.
Key Objectives:

Main Duties

About Hope for the Young
Hope for the Young is on a mission to remove the obstacles to young refugees and asylum-seeker’s education and well-being through a bespoke package of one-to-one mentoring, advocacy, and financial support.
Founded in 2008, Hope for the Young has grown from a small grant-making charity led by its Trustees to an organisation that, last year, worked closely alongside 135 young people, with 11 staff members, and 150 dedicated volunteer mentors.
Our Mentoring Programme operates London-wide and matches young refugees and asylum-seekers aged 16-25 with trained volunteer mentors who provide tailored one-to-one support and advice according to their needs.

About the Role
As our Fundraising and Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and expanding our impact so that more young refugees can access the education and one-to-one support they need to rebuild their lives in the UK. The Education Support Worker will provide intensive support to Ukrainian refugee families within the local area who are experiencing challenges understanding, navigating and accessing the education system.
Students who have their learning and wellbeing needs met will develop the capacity to engage more effectively with school, which will reduce the risk of falling behind, increase social participation and wellbeing, and contribute to building opportunities for their future.
This is a new role within our team, so the successful candidate will have the specialist knowledge and expertise required to build a sustainable framework of support for Ukrainian refugee children and their families. The Education Support Worker will work alongside the Surrey County Council education support services and schools and will be guided by professional advice.
The key activities of the role will include:
· Supporting families to develop a Support Plan that sets academic and wellbeing goals, based on the young person’s individual circumstances and needs

About the role
As a Resettlement Support Worker, you will work with a caseload of families and individuals who have either arrived in the UK under specific resettlement schemes or who have recently been granted their refugee status. In your role you will work with clients on their support plans, guiding them to identify their goals as they begin a new chapter in Lambeth. Support to our clients is holistic and will include: support to register with GP and access/understand UK health system; support to understand and apply for benefits; support and encouragement to engage in Employment, Training and Education opportunities; support to manage their housing and in the case of clients living in temporary accommodation, support to move on to more sustainable options. Refugee Council is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Executive to secure and steward new donors, and to grow the charity’s established Major Donor/Philanthropy programme, taking it to a new level of giving.
Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK. Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment. Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system. The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.
As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.
Working with key stakeholders from across the organisation, the post-holder will play a critical role in the delivery of an ambitious Major Donor/Philanthropy strategy and will be responsible for offering inspiring stewardship to the existing cohort of major donors, and for driving forward work to identify new prospects. Refugee Council has ambitious plans to significantly grow income from major donors, capitalising on the high profile which immigration and asylum currently have in public and political discourse.
The ideal candidate will have a track record in cultivating relationships from new and existing supporters and in securing in five figure gifts or above, as well as in meeting challenging income targets. They will have excellent knowledge of the methodology of major gift fundraising strategies and a proven ability to create bespoke, compelling cases for support and reports at a variety of levels and for different audiences. Excellent verbal and communication skills will be combined with superb relationships building and networking abilities. We are now recruiting for the exciting new role of Family Support Coordinator. This role will organise and deliver Croydon Refugee Day Centre (CRDC)’s new Family Support Programme, including being responsible for 1-1 casework with families to support children into education, and overseeing our Family Support Volunteers.
You will work at CRDC’s centre as well as running weekly to fortnightly drop-ins at four asylum hotel sites across Croydon, working in partnership with other organisations, the accommodation provider, and CRDC staff and volunteers to identify and reach out to families new to the accommodation and families that might need extra support.
You will have the following responsibilities:
1.Offer practical, hardship support to families with children.
2.Build links with, refer and signpost families to other organisations that offer opportunities and support for children and young people.
3.Support and empower families new to the area (and the country) – by helping them understand and navigate UK educational and child-related systems – including supporting with in-year school applications and school liaison.
4.Support families transitioning out of the asylum system or area to find new support networks.
5.Work with the Operational Coordinator to run activities for children not yet attending school at our Wednesday Welcome sessions, and to run one-off outings and activities in school holidays.

The Croydon Refugee Day Centre (CRDC) is a small but specialist, primarily volunteer-led organisation, with 25 years’ experience of supporting asylum seekers and refugees across Croydon and beyond. Our vision is that all asylum seekers and refugees across Croydon are able to integrate into and thrive in the UK. To this end, we support them both with their basic, practical needs and their mental health and well-being – as well as to develop the support networks, skills and experience they need to flourish.

Responding to immediate needs and structural inequalities, our work aims to enable the development, agency and participation of Latin Americans and other Spanish and Portuguese speakers. We do this by offering high-quality information and advice services, opportunities for development and training, and a platform to seek social and systemic change. Our work is organised across three main operational areas: Advice and Casework; Education, Training and Employment; and Children and Young People; as well as a cross-cutting area: Advocacy, Research, Policy Mapping and Campaigning.
About the Children and Young People Area at IRMO
Our family and youth projects offer dedicated ESOL classes, mentoring and creative workshops for recently arrived children and young people up to the age of 19.
Through our initiatives in this area, we support young service users and their families to get a place in nursery, school, college or university, boost educational attainment and make friends while learning, creating and discovering new talents.
Beyond this, the area supports parents to meet their family needs and access other services through targeted advice, advocacy, referrals and learning workshops. We also support families with access to healthcare, special education needs and disability support, emergency support for those destitute or at risk of destitution, and referrals to specialised and legal support. Our services with children and young people have achieved the Bronze level of the London Youth Quality Mark.
Programme Manager – Children and Young People

About the role
This role will provide financial and operational leadership and management for CCLC particularly focussed on the Legal Practice Unit and the Migrant Children’s Project but with support for the Child Law Advice Service and Coram International where required. Managing a small finance team, the role will hold primary responsibility for core financial functions within CCLC including legal aid billing and management and tracking of grant and other charitable funding. Through systematic and efficient financial management, the post holder will play a pivotal role in CCLC’s financial sustainability. The role will act as a key point of contact with Coram’s central finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders on financial matters.
The role will also oversee the smooth running of the London and Colchester offices through line management of operations and administrative staff.
The role would suit a high organised and efficient business support professional with experience of financial management within the legal or charity sector. In particular, candidates with experience of legal billing and more specifically, civil legal aid billing, would be welcomed.
This is a largely office-based role in order to fully provide support to the finance and operations team. However, some remote / hybrid working may be possible depending the experience of the candidate after the initial settling in period (to be negotiated with the successful candidate).The finance team are split between the London and Colchester offices and the post holder should expect some travel to both locations. The large majority of the legal and policy team are based in London and as such regular (at least twice weekly) presence in our London office will be expected. However, on other days the candidate could be based in the London or Colchester office.
Whilst this is a full-time position, we will consider requests for part-time working (28 hours per week minimum) and we will endeavour to offer some flexibility with days and hours to be agreed.

The Role
The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of our youth development programme for young refugees and asylum seekers.

Job Description
To be responsible for coordinating, planning, and delivering our youthwork programme in Brent, ensuring you are focused on achieving our outcomes and impact for young refugees and asylum seekers – and working within our current strategy, youth development strategy and implementation plan. Our current youth work activities are:

2. To manage the Brent Youth Development Team
· Line manage Youth Development Workers
· Supervise volunteers to enable them to support activities with young people

7. To ensure targeted outreach to young asylum seekers and refugees, publicising projects creatively and appropriately, including at relevant schools and colleges in the local area.
8. To ensure excellent safeguarding practice, and always follow our Safeguarding Policy, reporting any Safeguarding incidents to the Designated Safeguarding Lead ad ensuring they are informed, and appropriate, timely action is taken.
9. To work with the Impact and Communications Manager to provide content (photos, videos, quotes, case studies) which is safe for and respectful of the young people we support, with the right permissions that can be used as part of communications to our supporters, on social media and as evidence of our work to funders.
10. Ensure activities in Brent are monitored and evaluated in line with the agreed protocols.
11. To build collaborative relationships with partners and referral organisations attending and organising partnership meetings as required.

As a Senior Policy & Advocacy Adviser you will work in the Education Team within the Global Policy, Advocacy and Research department.
Save the Children is partnering with the LEGO Foundation on an exciting new project to advocate for changes in policy, participation, and funding to improve the quality of instruction and wellbeing of teachers in refugee hosting communities in Kenya.
Your role will focus on advocacy on refugee education, including a focus on teachers and the education workforce. The role will require you to work closely with colleagues in our Kenya office, to both support advocacy at the national level, and to affect change on refugee education through global advocacy.
Our ideal candidate for this role would be someone who is a sharp strategic thinker, who understands how to make political and policy change happen across different contexts. You will have experience of working with partners to achieve national and global policy change, and have strong networking and relationship building skills. Da'aro Youth Project is looking for an experienced full-time caseworker to join our small team based in Streatham Hill, London. The successful candidate will work alongside young refugees, asylum seekers and other young migrants who are at risk or in crisis to ensure that they can access their statutory rights and make progress in their personal, social and educational development so that they can achieve their full potential. You will join our Casework Service which provides holistic casework, advice and practical support to young people aged 14 to 25 years, working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer-term needs of young people are met.
