The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Benefits Entitlements and Claims Support Officer, to work on either a full or part time basis. Job Share applications are also welcome.
This role provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity build its profile amongst regional stakeholders whilst delivering projects that seek to bring an end to fuel poverty and to the misery of cold homes that is experienced by over 6.5 million households in the UK.
NEA’s Benefits Entitlements and Claims Support Officers are empathetic, polite and have good listening skills but are also knowledgeable, assertive, and confident. The post holder will be responsible for giving comprehensive benefit entitlement advice and support to householders. The post holder will obtain relevant information about a client’s circumstances and offer accurate guidance about potential eligibility for additional benefit entitlements. This will include the completion of application forms as appropriate. Advice will be given over the phone, via online contact and in face-to-face settings where appropriate.
What you will need to succeed
You will have a good understanding of Welfare Rights, including entitlements, systems, claim processes and current legislation and practices. Demonstrable experience of providing advice via telephone and face to face.
You will need good organisational skills, excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of the needs of low income, vulnerable or disadvantaged householders.
NEA has several office locations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and welcomes applicants from all regions. Home working and office-based locations are available. As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.
Our projects are run by volunteers and supported by Regional Managers, through recruitment and training of volunteers. Your role will be to support the Regional Manager so that they can manage more projects, along with supporting the Regional Manager with expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new volunteers for the region.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects. You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.
The role will require attendance at our Community Meals projects in Leeds, Sheffield, Hull and Bradford, with occasional evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.

About The Hygiene Bank
Hygiene poverty is not being able to afford many of the everyday hygiene and personal grooming products most of us take for granted. The reality of low income is that it restricts people’s options, leaving us caught between being able to heat our homes, pay the rent, eat, or be clean. It is washing hair, bodies, faces and clothes in the same cheap washing up liquid used for the dishes. It is not being able to replace a toothbrush when needed or sharing a toothbrush because one each just isn't an option. It is having to choose between shaving foam and razors or the transport fare to a job interview.
Hygiene Poverty is the hidden crisis facing the UK. In 2022, The Hygiene Bank published groundbreaking research into the incidence and impact of hygiene poverty. It found that over 3.1 million adults across the country are currently experiencing hygiene poverty and that it is both alarmingly widespread, increasing and disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable. It stops people from participating in society, feeds the mental health crisis and blocks routes out of poverty. It is simply unjust.

Job Description
The Fundraising Officer will be a key member of The Hygiene Bank’s income generation and wider team, with a responsibility to help fulfil the charity’s fundraising plans. The role will support the charity’s Senior Volunteer Experience, Communications and Fundraising Manager and Head of Fundraising, Communications and External Engagement to help raise and grow revenue from a diverse portfolio of supporters across the UK, with a particular focus on maximising funds from trusts, foundations and grant-giving organisations, as we implement our new fundraising strategy.
Responsibilities
· Research and build relationships with new and existing grant-making organisations.
· Write and submit applications to grant-making organisations.
· Keep the pipeline of support and the fundraising database updated.
· Assist with evaluation and monitoring reports and ensure these are of high quality and are submitted on time.
· Support and provide guidance to local projects on the development and submission of grant applications, keeping record of all prospects and monitoring the reporting and performance of local projects based on funding requirements.
· Support and assist the Senior Volunteer Experience, Communications and Fundraising Manager and Head of Fundraising, Communications and External Engagement with the implementation of the Fundraising strategy and other team activities.
· Assist in stewarding the support of funders and donors through regular communications updates.
· Have an understanding of charity law, in particular with regard to the Data Protection Act and GDPR and the recording and storage of donor data. Ensure all data is managed within the law and effectively.
· Assist with the creation of fundraising materials, such as newsletters, brochures, Annual Report and other communications.

Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) has an international award-winning reputation in heritage conservation and regeneration for its own estate. For this reason CCT has been contracted to deliver a programme of work for Historic Chapels Trust (HCT). HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*. You will have previous experience in the field of historic buildings maintenance, repair or property management. Churches Conservation Trust works with communities to look after 357 historic churches, over two million visitors annually and hundreds of events both private and public. These ancient, listed sites are among the most beautiful locations in England.
You’ll be visiting sites in your patch regularly, encouraging new supporters, holding local meetings, and raising funds to meet each building’s unique needs. Sharing progress through a growing church plan for each of the 22 churches in your area, you’ll ensure these buildings thrive as beautifully maintained visitor attractions, as venues for events and as central parts of village, town or city life.

You will join our Regional Gifts-in-Wills team to help deliver over a third of all income that the Alzheimer’s Society receives each year. You will not be tied to a financial target – our focus is on developing incredible and long-lasting relationships with our supporters through exquisite stewardship, as well as hosting and delivering one to two supporter facing events per year.
Success in your role will enable our colleagues to campaign for change, fund research to find a cure, and support people living with dementia today. That really is making a difference! Our team in Energy Saving Trust manages the national Home Energy Scotland service on behalf of the Scottish Government. As Policy & Engagement Officer, you will work with the Hope for the Future team to:
- Act as constituents’ main point of contact at HFTF, working with them to effectively engage their elected representatives by supporting them through the constituent journey (including offering tailored advice, letter writing, meeting preparation and coaching, facilitation and follow-up).

As Local Mobilisation Officer, you will support the delivery of our ambitious programme to mobilise food banks in the Trussell network to campaign for change. The Finance Manager of Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs in partnership with the Chief Executive Officer and the Board is responsible for the success of the organisation with responsibility in particular for:
