Our Surrey and Sussex area covers prisons including HMP Send, HMP Coldingley, HMP Bronzefield, HMP Lewes and HMP Ford. Working closely with people in prison, prison managers, Shannon Trust staff and volunteers you will ensure development of our criminal programmes maximising literacy and numeracy learning opportunities for people across a number of prisons and contracts in your area.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings, managing teams and contract performance, underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. This is a full time, prison based role at HMP Downview and will require travel across the Surrey and Sussex area.

Right now, we’re looking for a Registered Manager for our Crisis Recovery Service in Ealing.
As well as responsibility for the operational management of the service, including service delivery within policies, procedures and quality standards, the Registered Manager will ensure the service complies with relevant legislation and will oversee the work of a team that comprises of 1 Peer Support Coordinator, 1 Administrator, 1 Community Links Worker and 2 Team Managers that provide line management support for 15 Recovery Workers.
The Registered Manager will also help the Regional Operations Lead to prepare and deliver business plans and budgets. Substantial experience of contract management and the competency it takes to manage regulated activity and attain relevant qualifications as well as meeting the standards required by CQC. A proven ability to develop business plans and manage budgets is important too, as is an up-to-date understanding of the recovery/crisis management model and the ability to ensure the safe management of medication.
You are outcome focused, with a collaborative and flexible approach, you're great at motivating and inspiring others, adept at managing conflicting priorities, negotiate with tact and diplomacy and have good investigation skills. You will also need skills in managing conflicting demands and priorities, motivating staff and delegating work, as well as a good understanding of managing client risk and safe working practices. A relevant professional social care qualification to support your experience would also be an advantage.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will play an integral role in planning and delivering our flagship annual Night of Light Gala, working closely with our Event Lead and the rest of the Philanthropy Team on this dazzling event. Our Gala raised approximately £300K of vital funds in 2023. You will work with some amazing suppliers, high profile people, volunteers and supporters on this, and other events. You will get to support third-party events, including Golf Days and challenges, and special events like our 8-Hour cycle challenge round Brands Hatch for 20 teams of four in September, as well as any new events for our philanthropists to deliver vital income, and inspire our supporters to grow and repeat their events, each year.
You will also provide essential research and administration support to help prospect and steward incredible high-level supporters and our Fundraising Board of volunteers.
