Role Summary
This role, based in Scotland (working remotely) , is crucial in driving forward support for, engagement with, and coordination of high-quality and high-impact multi-day work experiences for high-need young people across the UK. Experts in the coordination and delivery of multi-day work experiences, working closely with UK-wide employers and education establishments in Scotland.
The starting salary for this role is £30216, rising to £32706 after a suucessful year in role.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Strategic purpose:
- Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Experience opportunities from initial programme scoping with non-income generating employers to securing commitments, monitoring young person applications, programme design and implementation, and employer follow up.
- Nurturing relationships with existing schools and colleges in Scotland and onboarding new establishments
Employer Engagement:
- Responsible for account management of corporate partnerships as agreed by the development team
- Securing commitment from employers to deliver multi-day work experience opportunities.
- Account management for employers throughout their work experience journey.
- Supporting the account management of corporate partners by delivering on their work experience programmes as agreed by the business development team and coordinating with other programme teams to ensure committed delivery takes place.
- Training employers to use SfS products in the coordination and delivery of their placements, including but not limited to Portal and Google Classroom.
- Working closely with Delivery Partners to ensure seamless delivery of work experience opportunities.
- Leading on all employer engagement and meetings with your dedicated accounts.

School Engagement:
- Training and supporting users to maximise the opportunity to their students accessing our programmes through our platform
- Delivering training sessions to schools and colleges on our programmes and building on engagement in Scotland.

Delivery:
- Providing best practice guidance and advice on work experience programme set up and content.

The BIR is an international membership organisation, a multidisciplinary society and a registered charity. We are for everyone working in imaging, radiation oncology and the underlying sciences.
With a new five-year strategy in place, the Education team play a key role in one of our areas of greatest growth potential; helping to ensure the BIR remains financially sustainable in a changing environment, offering education to more people, and helping grow our membership.
We aim to deliver world class education, training and CPD in a wide range of new and exciting formats, in response to current and future market needs. In 2022/3 the Education team ran 39 events over the year, including 12 virtual events, 11 face-to-face events – including two that were hybrid, and 16 webinars.
JOB SUMMARY
This post is central to the activities of the BIR. The role-holder will ensure effective planning, marketing and delivery of the BIR’s educational events, which includes a combination of both in-person and virtual events. The role is hands-on and often involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You must be able to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear communication, excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of an event. Some UK travel and out of hours working is involved.
MEETINGS PROGRAMME/TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES
• To plan, coordinate and manage the educational events programme (currently approximately 39 events per year).
• To plan, develop and market the annual events calendar in a timely manner.
• To liaise as required with the Education Committee, Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches ensuring that educational events are proposed and organised within the annual events calendar (involved from inception to delivery).
• To attend and brief all BIR Special Interest Groups and Regional Branches on performance of meetings and events. This includes post-event evaluations (including data entry and analysis and producing reports for event stakeholders and Education Committee).
• Lead the delivery of our key annual events, including managing logistics, administration and engaging with speakers, delegates and sponsors at the event.
• To assist in delivering the education programme in a wide range of new and exciting formats.
• To undertake market research to identify opportunities for events.
• To work closely with ‘event leads’ to ascertain their precise event requirements. Also, responsible for bringing any deviation or potential risk to the programme to the attention of the Director of Educational Development in a timely manner.
• To source and develop relationships with sponsors, event exhibitors and corporate members
• To ensure that all tasks required to produce successful events are allocated to the appropriate staff member and to support staff in performing those tasks. To monitor income against budget and ensure that the BIR income is maximised through delivering excellent programmes and through creative use of facilities.
• To act as an ambassador for the BIR and foster strong relationships with stakeholders including sister organisations and industry contacts
• To prepare the annual budget forecasts for the coming year and monitor and report against performance during the year.

Duties and responsibilities:
The purpose of the Programme Officer role is to support the successful delivery of the In2STEM Programme. You will be responsible for recruitment, managing a caseload of students and volunteers (work experience hosts), and managing relationships with supporters and funders. Job Purpose
This administrative based role is to manage community volunteering at BOST, including existing gardening volunteers, volunteer wardens for Crossbones Graveyard and to manage the recruitment and induction of new volunteers and wardens. This will be facilitated primarily through our volunteer programmes but also by the management of contracts, events, partnership working and local networks, and by raising awareness of BOST’s work through traditional and new marketing channels.

Volunteering

To work with the Community Engagement Facilitator to recruit volunteers and wardens from a wide range of backgrounds to participate in BOST programmes and other aspects of the charity by developing and maintaining relationships with local community groups, partner organisations, businesses and individuals.

Working with the Community Engagement Facilitator to target and ensure equal access for individuals from marginalised groups such as speakers of other languages, young people and people with disabilities.

About the role
This is a vital role supporting the Workforce Development team through the effective coordination of activities associated with a number of initiatives carried out within WorldSkills UK, including the completion of an award-winning pilot programme supporting education institutions to mainstream excellence into the delivery of technical education.
You will be working with a highly motivated and engaging team in a fast-paced environment, coordinating activities, managing resources, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring progress and evaluating impact. You will be confident in liaising with senior and middle managers in an educational environment and will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and digital software such as Zoom. You will have excellent attention to detail, alongside planning and organisational skills to support the programme of events which will be delivered both digitally and in person across 2024-26.
Role purpose
The Project Coordinator will proactively support the programming, coordination and management of a number of projects within the WorldSkills UK portfolio, including the WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence and Network for Innovation as well as the International Skills Partnership initiatives. The successful applicant will work with the Senior Workforce Development Manager in supporting a team of High-Performance Skills Coaches based across the UK.
The post holder will demonstrate excellent organisational, operational and process management skills; have experience of working within a similar setting and be able to communicate well and provide strong and efficient administration to support the ambition and priorities of the programmes.
Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Programme coordination:
• Acting as the secretariat for the internal Centre of Excellence project team and external steering groups; preparing reports, papers, minutes and actions for monthly and quarterly meetings.
• Contributing to the planning of activities/tasks in accordance with the agreed project plan to ensure delivery on time and to budget, raising purchase orders and tracking spend against forecast.
• Coordinating the programme ensuring all deviations from targets (time, money, people, etc.) are identified and addressed at the earliest possible stage.
• Producing requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.

• Effectively liaising with programme participants, responding to enquiries regarding programme content, scheduling or other.

The Health Awareness Coordinator role at Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering is an excellent opportunity to work within a small team on an established community health project in the London Borough of Havering, which helps to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents by identifying and recruiting Health Champion Volunteers within the borough.
My Health Matters is commissioned by London Borough of Havering (Public Health) and aims to inform, support and signpost residents to relevant local resources and empower them to adopt healthier lifestyles.
The role requires organising Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) Health Champion Training for people living and/or working in Havering and other health related training. You will be responsible for researching and organising events and relevant health literature to promote the project, engaging and building relationships with local stakeholders, supporting national Public Health campaigns. You will also be responsible for securing retention of trained volunteers using regular and effective communication. The role includes promoting the service at meetings and outreach events and organising focus groups with Health Champions. Undertaking administration to record any data collected from events, training and Focus Groups for monitoring purposes will be required. The role will also entail management of Health Awareness Officer, Admin Support Officer and volunteers.
Successful applicants will have relevant knowledge in health awareness issues in a paid or voluntary capacity. They will need to be excellent communicators and able to work effectively both one to one and as part of a team as well as supporting and motivating volunteers. Good computer skills and accurate record keeping are also required. Be flexible with both working hours and with other duties arising as the project develops.
