WCRF International leads and unites a global network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe and the Americas, providing the science, policy, and strategic direction that guides their work to prevent cancer worldwide.

We are recruiting a Senior Policy Research Manager to lead WCRF’s flagship policy tools, including NOURISHING, MOVING and the Blueprint for Cancer Prevention. You will translate the latest science into actionable policy recommendations, deliver high-quality research projects, and represent WCRF externally to maximise our national and international impact.

We are looking for a candidate with strong policy research expertise, experience in evidence-based advocacy, and the ability to turn complex science into clear policy solutions. You will bring an innovative approach, including exploring new methods such as AI, and be skilled at working across teams and with external stakeholders.

You will have a proven track record in managing policy tools or research projects, building collaborations and engaging senior decision-makers. Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder skills are essential to support WCRF’s strategy and enhance the influence of the Policy & Public Affairs team.

About the Department/Role

Data Services is part of the Central Services of the Church of England, providing statistical information, analysis, research and consultancy.  The team works collaboratively with the NCIs, dioceses and parishes collecting and assembling data to support the Church’s missional, pastoral and operational activities through high-quality information and analysis.   This is used locally, at parish, diocesan and national levels, involving the Team in a wide range of customer contacts and interfaces

The Data Services Team works to promote data collection that is efficient and effective, producing high-quality services and deliverables geared to a varied range of customer needs.  Within the Team, the Data and Analysis unit leads on carrying out data collection and analysis and establishing best practice for research and use of data. It acts as the professional centre of excellence to inform and assist operational and development work within the Team, the NCIs, and the wider Church of England.

What you'll be doing
The purpose of this role is to support the mission of the Church of England by ensuring that high quality data are collected, made available, and appropriately used in decision-making at local, regional, and national level.  This analyst role also carries an emphasis on supporting the Church of England to achieve net zero carbon by 2030.  50% of the role will support the Net Zero programme by running the Energy Footprint tool, working with Dioceses and Churches to collect energy data, analysing the resulting dataset and reporting to assist with tracking the important progress of this work. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

• Working with data received from churches, parishes, dioceses, and cathedrals to ensure best possible quality in terms of consistency, timeliness and accuracy, including undertaking an appropriate share of routine validation and processing.
• Analysing data, and preparing reports for publication of statistics relating to church attendance, parish finances, ministry, cathedrals, parish census and deprivation, and other agreed Business as Usual (BAU) deliverables.
• Overseeing the Energy Footprint Tool, including leading on question design, data analysis, and reporting
•  Responding to queries regarding the Energy Footprint Tool from diocesan colleagues
•  Producing analysis and reports to aid Net Zero decision making
• Working with key stakeholders to review and improve data collection processes and ensuring these are accurately documented, tested and implemented.
• Providing professional expertise and support to colleagues leading other work within the Data Services Team.
• Providing analysis, insight and statistical advice in response to NCIs’, Synodical, Parliamentary and official enquiries and working parties, including the drafting of responses and material for publication.
• Assisting, advising and providing professional support for the creation and development of resources that will help churches, parishes and dioceses better understand and engage with their data.
• Helping to organise and contribute to Data Services events and activities, including those for diocesan and NCI colleagues and members of General Synod.

Essential

The Research Team is pivotal to ensuring that research funded by Children with Cancer UK is at the

We fund groundbreaking research that will cure paralysis, ensuring people living with spinal cord injuries will get life-changing treatments.

The Role:

The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end processing of all supporter and organisational data. This includes the set-up and management of systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across multiple sources, and preparing information to support financial reporting. The role holder will also ensure the effective use of Salesforce CRM and other connected systems, while enabling teams across the organisation to use data to drive insight and impact.

This role will report into the Head of Operations and Strategy, providing guidance on data management, systems improvements and organisational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

Data Management & Processing:

• Manage the end-to-end flow of supporter and organisational data across all systems.
• Collate data from multiple sources and prepare/upload into Salesforce CRM.
• Ensure data is reconciled with bank statements to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
• Carry out manual processing and preparation steps required for accountants and financial reporting.
• Maintain data quality and integrity across all systems and databases.

Systems & Integration:

• Oversee the access, security, and effective use of Salesforce CRM, payment platforms and third-party systems.
• Map and align data across platforms to ensure correct integration and reporting.
• Identify, resolve and prevent system or data flow errors.
• Support the Head of Operations and Strategy in implementing new systems or improvements.

Data Analysis & Insight:

• Provide accurate data analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Build dashboards and reports in Salesforce and other tools to support fundraising, research and operational teams.
• Identify trends, patterns and opportunities to increase organisational effectiveness.
• Act as the central point of expertise for data queries across the charity.

Team Support & Development:

Skill Set Requirements:

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing complex datasets.

We are looking for someone who wants to use their developing administrative and research skills to tackle racism and inequality. Organised, methodical and curious, you will support the research and policy related work of the Race Equality Foundation.

From organising interviews and roundtable discussions, to facilitating online and in person meetings, and ensuring high quality record keeping and data management; you will be crucial to the Foundation’s work in exploring the persistence of racial inequalities and their consequences and developing solutions.

Key to the way we work are both intersectionality and participatory approaches that centre the voices of those with lived experience, and you will facilitate this in the projects you work on. You will support our dissemination activities to a range of audiences, and our relationships with stakeholders, including central and local government and our voluntary and community sector partners.

Brain Research UK are seeking an Interim Finance Manager to oversee the finance function for 3-4 months.

The role

Effective financial management is central to our strategy and operating model. The Finance Manager will be crucial in determining how we manage our finances, resources and operations whilst embedding a culture of financial efficiency and effective controls.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Interim Finance Manager will lead on financial matters and be expected to provide critical financial information, insightful analysis and timely reporting to facilitate the growth of the Charity.

The role is standalone but working within a closeknit team. It with therefore have a degree of autonomy but will be expected to contribute to the wider development of the Charity. This is a pivotal appointment within the Charity and will provide some broad exposure to the Board and Investment Committee.

We are therefore seeking a dynamic qualified accountant who has had wide exposure to financial reporting and processes, preferably within a fundraising Charity. Being a financial ‘all rounder’, there is a real opportunity to contribute to the way the Charity operates by instilling sound financial operations and providing meaningful financial reporting. The role provides an opportunity to lead the finance function and will suit a progressive accountant looking for this kind of responsibility.

We would therefore be looking for an individual that has demonstrable experience in operating financial functions and has the personality to fit within a charity that works collaboratively. 

The role covers a 3 to 4 month period commencing from late September. Early applications are encouraged so we can interview as soon as possible.

The Research Grants Officer’s role is to support the Research team to ensure that The Charity effectively delivers our Research Strategy: Accelerating a Cure and our grant programme.

You will assist with all aspects of our pre and post award management processes for all of our current and future funding schemes.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

With an enthusiasm and passion for the work of The Brain Tumour Charity you will have a life science background, a strong understanding of medical research and its funding. You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), a keen eye for details and enjoy working in a fast-paced team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Work with and assist the Research Team in the implementation of The Charity’s strategic goals and research strategy.
• Undertake research related projects to further the aims of The Charity to transform the research landscape to support people in living longer, better lives following a brain tumour diagnosis.
• Support the administration of The Charity’s grant application, monitoring and review processes, including liaising with academic researchers and assessment panels.
• Support the peer reviewing of submitted proposals by identifying expert reviewers for those areas, and ensuring reviews and scores are completed within strict deadlines.
• Organise and attend panel meetings including liaising with attendees and venues, preparing and distributing panel packs, and taking minutes and producing summaries where necessary.
• Monitor the progress of current grants through review of annual reports as well as regular engagement with The Charity’s funded researchers outside of reporting timelines.
• Detailed financial monitoring of awarded grants and maintain accurate records of expenditure.
• Maintain accurate electronic records to track grant applications and awarded grants.
• Respond to enquiries about The Charity’s funded research, research strategy and calls for applications from researchers, the public and colleagues within The Charity.
• Assist in ensuring the scientific accuracy of internal and external communications around the research programme, for example in feedback letters, mail outs, newsletters, website content and press releases.

Help shape national debates on justice and champion the voice of magistrates.

We’re looking for a Policy and Research Officer to join the Magistrates’ Association and turn evidence into influence.

The MA is the only independent membership body for magistrates in England and Wales. With around 12,000 members, we speak truth to power, support our members, and advocate for a fairer and more effective justice system.

This is a varied, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. One day you might be writing a briefing for a parliamentary inquiry or drafting a consultation response; the next you could be analysing survey data, supporting one of our national policy committees, or working with colleagues to launch a new advocacy report in the media.

You’ll be joining a small, supportive team where your ideas can have real impact. Recent projects have tackled judicial diversity, recognition for magistrates, reform of the Single Justice Procedure, and access to justice for disabled magistrates. For 40 years, NEF has turned big ideas, rigorous research and community power into real-world change. At this critical moment in politics, we’re looking for a Researcher (Environment & Net Zero) to join our economy and environment team.

Working with a talented group of economists and researchers, you will design, manage and deliver high-quality research projects across energy, climate, transport and wider decarbonisation. You’ll create datasets, carry out quantitative and qualitative analysis, and develop policy proposals that are creative, evidence-based and workable. You’ll also contribute to consultancy commissions, support fundraising bids, and represent NEF externally in meetings, media and public platforms such as blogs, podcasts and videos.

We’re looking for someone with a degree (or equivalent experience) in environmental economics, climate change, sustainability, public policy or a related field; strong research and quantitative skills (Excel and ideally Stata, R or Python); excellent writing and communication ability, and 3–5 years of relevant experience. Just as important is curiosity, creativity, good organisation, and a commitment to building a fairer, greener economy.

Hours of work: Full Time (32 hours per week under NEF’s Shorter Working Week)
Salary range: £42,868 - £45,850
Location: London/South East (in-office minimum two days per week)
