About you
We are seeking a Policy and Engagement Officer to help deliver our ambitious policy goals and projects. Working with the wider engagement and storytelling theme, you will be responsible for progressing external scientific and higher education policy activities for the Society. You will also be responsible for promoting science policy issues and engagement to members of the Society.
The post-holder will contribute to and support the Policy and Engagement Manager in the delivery of all of Council’s strategic objectives and particularly in relation to advancing the understanding of microbiology and championing the contribution made by microbiology, our members and their work in addressing global challenges

Media & Communications Officer
Business Disability Forum is the leading business membership organisation in disability inclusion. Our Communications and Marketing team is working hard to attract more businesses to join us as Members, to increase uptake of our events, products and services, and to help us to become more well-known for our policy work, research and campaigns.

The majority of this role will focus on developing and delivering proactive and reactive print, online and broadcast media relations campaigns to promote the benefits of disability inclusion, our membership, products, services and policy work to businesses and policymakers. This new part-time role (4 days, Monday and Friday required), is based in our Communications and Marketing Team (6 people) and will work closely with our Media Consultant.

You will hold responsibility for managing a portfolio of partners providing cultivation and engagement strategies which maximise their lifetime value, using corporate fundraising techniques and support the development of creative and compelling proposals for existing partners and develop inspiring and engaging communications.
You will support the Corporate Partnerships team with larger accounts and projects and the transition of new business accounts to the account management team, liaise with volunteer branches and centres in the implementation of national partnerships, manage the administration and marketing of Payroll Giving and keep concise records of partnership projects on the central database.

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Purpose of the Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer role:
As Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer, the successful candidate will play an integral role in the implementation and maintenance of a rolling programme of prospect identification, research and the nurturing of relationships. Leading on maximising support through the corporate fundraising streams, the post holder will draft and submit applications among other approaches to prospective funders and donors. We are looking for a friendly, organised individual to join our small team as the Operations Officer. You will help underpin the work of Music as Therapy International, a charity which inspires, guides and champions the use of music to strengthen care around the world.
Working closely with the charity’s existing team, responsibilities will include:Project Administration, External comms, Financial Administration, Fundraising, Governance, and Team Administration.

High Trees are seeking a dynamic and creative Community Capacity Building Officer to provide tailored development support to local organisations and manage projects relating to sector support. At Get Further we aim to open doors to opportunity for work and education for learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. Over the last three years, Get Further has experienced a period of rapid growth, increasing the number of students and colleges we work with, and expanding our central team. We are seeking to recruit a Fundraising Officer to work closely with our CEO, Sarah to support the long term sustainability of the charity by identifying and building relationships with potential funders, and submitting funding bids to secure a significant proportion of our income to help more students get further.
The Fundraising Officer will also collaborate with other members of the team to develop a supporter database, produce compelling and tailored funding applications, and contribute to performance analysis and report for our Board of Trustees.

An exciting position has arisen for a Finance Officer to work for a community benefit society to provide year-end and on-going support to the finance team for up to six months.
Main duties
This position will offer variation covering many duties within Finance.
- You will have responsibility for key aspects of financial and management reporting and control to deliver timely and reliable reporting.
- You will assist the current Assistant Management Accountant, Purchase Ledger Clerk and Payroll Assistant on a daily basis.
- The post-holder will, on a regular basis, liaise directly with each finance team member and report to the Head of Finance.
- Assist in the sales ledger, which involves verifying orders and updating the finance system (Accounts IQ). Additionally sending out relevant invoices via email or accessing customer portals.
- Assist the purchase ledger, including matching invoices with purchase orders and obtaining approvals from relevant managers. This information is then recorded in Accounts IQ. Also onboarding new suppliers in Accounts IQ and verifying bank details.
- Perform credit control checks.
- Assist with the monthly payroll cycle.
- Input month-end journal entries.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Assisting with month-end management accounts and reporting.
- Assist in analysing the Profit and Loss accounts.
- Assist with Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Support year-end audit.
- Any ad-hoc tasks.
- Provide timely responses to internal and external stakeholders and deal with queries in a timely manner.
- Adhere to the deliverables timetable, and maintaining a strong working relationship with the senior leadership team.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- At least 2 years experience in a similar finance role
- Experience with month and year end experience and procedures
- Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll experience
- Experience of managing multiple deadlines with a track record of delivering under pressure
- Good communication skills – written and verbal
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel knowledge
- A knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word in particular) to an intermediate level
- Microsoft Teams
- Degree educated in Finance
- Strong ability to plan ahead and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ideally you will be AAT qualified.
- Studying towards a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), but this is not essential.
