Urban Saints are looking to recruit a new Communications Manager to join the team. This is a critical role, where you will be taking a lead to ensure that Urban Saints' internal and external communications are as effective as they can be. You will manage the Communications Team to ensure effective delivery of our communications strategy that promotes the identity and values of Urban Saints. Working with all other branches of Urban Saints, you will also maintain overall responsibility for ensuring that Urban Saints communicates well with the wide range of audiences we are seeking to connect with.

The ideal candidate will be one who understands and is passionate about ministry, particularly with opportunities provided through communications. They will also be experienced and confident with all primary channels and tools within the communications and marketing arena. We are also looking for someone who possesses a strategic mindset who is able to act as advisor to the CEO on Communications and Marketing matters, and to achieve impact through partnership and networking.

We’re looking for someone with excellent bilingual communication skills (Welsh and English) with great news sense, demonstrated through utilising  bilingual media outlets in Wales, and a sound knowledge of Wales and UK media.

About the role 

You’ll co-develop and implement an inclusive bilingual media and communications programme across traditional, digital and social media and maximise our messaging and campaigning impact in Wales through powerful communications. 

You’ll build a sustainable team of proactive volunteers affected by Parkinson’s to energise our communications through their personal stories and participation in communications work.

What you’ll do:

• Manage, monitor and report on the bilingual web pages and Facebook page for Wales

• Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

• Research and ‘sell’ stories to maximise coverage, involving people affected by Parkinson’s

• Provide Welsh language media interviews

• Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of interviewing and case study collection within sensitive topics 

• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, the media and stakeholders in Wales

• Ability to work co-productively with people affected by Parkinson’s

• Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and enable others to meet challenging deadlines 

• Willingness to participate in the Media and PR out-of-hours on-call cover, and the ability to work flexibly, from home, as member of a dispersed team

The Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA) is the national charity for people affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom.

CLAPA supports people affected by cleft to take control of their journey, connect with others, and use their voices to impact the future of care. Our vision is that no one affected by cleft lip and palate in the United Kingdom will go through their journey alone.

We are seeking a Fundraising Coordinator (Individual Giving) to join our small but dynamic Fundraising team.

The role requires excellent donor care and stewardship skills. All forms of communication will be required including the proactive use of digital channels such as the website and social media platforms.

The Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a vital role in increasing income from our existing supporters. You will support donor acquisition as well as taking the lead on retention of our supporters across multiple channels including cash appeals, regular giving, lottery and in celebration giving. The role will also support the Head of Income in the delivery of a legacy and major donor program.

You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship programmes that drive retention by deepening audience understanding of the challenges that people affected by cleft face and the impact that their donations make. Using data and insight, you’ll deliver compelling campaigns, with people affected by cleft right at the centre. You’ll use creative tools and techniques to demonstrate impact and inspire future action.

Role purpose:

The Partnerships & Income Operations Manager plays a multifaceted role encompassing driving pipeline prospecting efforts, managing certain impact reporting initiatives, and nurturing corporate partnerships. This pivotal role serves as a primary point of contact for coordinating various aspects of partnership development, impact reporting, and fundraising activities.

Main responsibilities and accountabilities:

 Corporate Partnerships:

· Lead a portfolio of lower to mid-value corporate donors, cultivating relationships and maximising engagement aligned with organisational objectives.

· Balance support between existing partnership management and developing new business opportunities, including mid to higher value partnerships.

 Pipeline Prospecting:

· Lead the identification and cultivation of prospective corporate donors, both new and potential.

· Utilise relationship management expertise and networking acumen to proactively identify opportunities for engagement in alignment with our balanced scorecard objectives.

· Act as a primary point of contact for inbound and outbound leads, collaborating with the Communications Team on outreach campaigns to drive lead generation and partnership engagement.

· Ensure a seamless experience for prospects entering the organisation, guiding them through the employer customer journey.

· Support the engagement of targeted employers in key sectors and regions, collaborating with income generation colleagues to develop mid to higher value prospects.

· Support the development of bids and pitches, connecting colleagues into their contributions across those efforts.

Engagement Tracking:

· Develop and maintain an Excel document to meticulously track engagement levels and interaction points with stakeholders.

· Coordinate the launch and delivery of quarterly board breakfasts, led by our board members; Manage logistics and invitations for board breakfasts to ensure successful networking opportunities.

· Facilitate a minimum of 10 executive meetings from our existing corporate partner portfolio per quarter with our CEO

· Coordinate the launch and delivery of quarterly sector-specific breakfasts to engage key individuals from existing partners; Coordinate with hosting partners and relevant attendees to ensure successful networking events.

Impact Reporting:

 · Coordinate, own, and update the employer impact reporting calendar for Partnerships and Income, ensuring proactive management of reporting deadlines and deliverables.

· Serve as the templated annual review impact report document owner, ensuring colleagues are familiar with its usage and providing necessary guidance.

· Maintain and update the fundraising FAQs document, acting as the point of contact for the team regarding any new questions and ensuring incorporation of new queries into the document.

Additional Duties:

· Collaborate with colleagues to gather necessary information for impact reporting and fundraising FAQs, coordinating with experts as needed.

· Assist in the development and updating of key information packs and documents related to impact reporting and fundraising.

· Act as a resource for the team, providing guidance and support on impact reporting and fundraising-related inquiries.

· Collaborate with colleagues on specific priority projects contributing to partnership success, such as establishing and growing senior networks with partners and spotlighting partners across channels.

· Secure partner events to maximise engagement opportunities and demonstrate the impact of our work.

· Strengthen external relationships by proactively seeking networking opportunities and identifying speaking engagements.

· Support the team in the funder contracts and payments cycle.

Stakeholders:

 Internal stakeholders include Impact Team, Salesforce, Data, and Digital Team, Finance Team, Communications and Marketing Team, Programme Leads, and colleagues in the Partnerships and Income Team.

External stakeholders include existing corporate partners and volunteers.

Education and Training

• Experience and formal training in a recognised Sales Methodology e.g. MEDDPICC, SPIN, Sandler

• Substantial proven experience in business development, b2b sales, or a similar role, in the service and/or not for profit sector
• Track record of securing seven-figure contracts.
