Responsibilities and Person Specification:
This role will form an integral part of our three person Policy and Public Affairs team based in Scotland, working as part of a UK-wide Policy and Influencing team. The role will drive forward our policy projects to reduce poverty in later life, conducting expert research and policy analysis and turning this into persuasive evidence to catch the attention of decision makers and persuaders. The postholder will create opportunities to amplify the voices of older people in poverty and work to secure support for our policy recommendations in Holyrood.
You will have strong research skills with experience of turning quantitative and qualitative data into high quality, persuasive policy outputs. You will have experience developing credible, evidence-based policy solutions, informed by the perspectives and insights of people with lived experience.
You will be a skilled verbal and written communicator with the ability to engage different audiences. You will build strategic relationships with a variety of stakeholders to advance the solutions needed to address poverty in later life, using your knowledge of the political landscape in Scotland and passion for our cause.

POSITION SUMMARY
The main purpose of this role is to provide day to day support to the management of CARE International’s global platforms (website and social media), monitor performance and support effective and timely communications planning globally. This is an exciting entry level position for those passionate about digital communications and engagement, and its intersection with social justice.
Main Responsibilities: - Key areas of responsibility but not limited to:
Support to Global Digital Platform Management (70%)
· Support the day-to-day management of CARE International Secretariat’s digital platforms including website and social media.
· Producing copy and graphics according to the guidelines agreed with Global Content Manager.
· Editing and uploading content to the CARE International website according to the digital strategy and guidelines set by the Global Content Manager.
· Act as the focal point for contact with the website development agency, overseeing technical upgrades and developments
· Support communications planning including management of a global external calendar with relevant dates and events to guide digital content creation.
· Support the management of social media dashboards and the elaboration of performance analysis with a view to improving outreach and optimizing content.
· Support the knowledge management of relevant materials for the digital content team.
· Actively seek out new trends and opportunities in the digital space.
· Support the Global Content Manager in other activities as required.
Support to Global Communications Working Group Coordination (20%)
· Support the Global Content Manager in implementing global communities of practice and content support.

Required
· 1-2 years of experience in website and social media management
· Solid understanding of communications principles and approaches and excellent communication skills
· Experience working with a Content Management System, with an understanding of SEO principles. Knowledge of Drupal a distinct advantage.
· Competent in the use of Canva or similar platforms for social media content production. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, video-editing software, and graphic design skills a distinct advantage.

As Project Support Officer you will support the Northern Area Manager and Regional Manager with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training (such as DBS, references, Food Safety Level 2, First Aid), giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our Yorkshire & The Humber projects to aid development and growth within the region.

About the role:
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who will promote and increase engagement with the Humberside ABC Service. Reporting to our Chief Executive Officer and Founder, you will be at the forefront of our mission, with overall responsibility for the development and execution of an ambitious and transformational growth strategy, to grow our global movement.
As Chief Growth Officer, you will provide inspirational leadership to your team in MMI and work closely with leaders across the network to support the development and delivery of highly effective growth strategies to expand the global supporter base and increase sustainable funding streams. This will be achieved through the development of high-profile campaigns, grassroots support, powerful storytelling, optimising technology, strengthening of our national affiliate network, developing strategic partnerships and high-value philanthropic initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the development and delivery of a compelling communications and marketing strategy, including targeted breakthrough initiatives, that will raise awareness of Mary’s Meals and inspire new audiences.
- Oversee the development and implementation of an ambitious philanthropy strategy to include foundations, institutions, corporations, major donors and other strategic or philanthropic partners.
- Proactively identify and cultivate new global partnerships and relationships.
- Encourage and support the formation of new International Fundraising Groups and National Affiliates.
- Play a key role in MMI’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) working closely with the CEO, Chief Officers, Director of People and Culture, the MMI Board and other leaders across Mary’s Meals.
- Lead, develop, coach and inspire a high-performing team of senior leaders.
About you:
With extensive C-suite/Director level experience in business development, communications, marketing, or fundraising, you will bring proven experience of developing and implementing transformational growth strategies. You will thrive in a fast-paced global environment where you can influence, lead and forge new partnerships to support the growth of our movement.
An exceptional leader, you will demonstrate proven experience of leading cross functional teams and leading on global projects and strategic initiatives. Our mission, vision, and values are at the very heart of everything we do, and this is more than a role, it’s an extraordinary opportunity to play a part in changing the story for children in some of the world’s poorest countries. You will be a true ambassador for our work and will demonstrate commitment to our movement, mission and vision. Experience of working in an international non-profit organisation would be beneficial but not essential.

We are Zarach: the children’s bed charity. Our story and our work have captured the nation’s attention, with regular appearances on local and national TV, and with our 2023 Christmas Appeal being supported by The Independent. Our charity was built upon voluntary endeavour and over the last six years we have continued to be incredibly well supported by people who choose to give their time, effort, skills, and experiences as volunteers to our mission of seeking to end child bed poverty in England.
We are honoured and humbled to have people volunteer with us on both a regular and more ad-hoc basis, and across different areas of the work we do. In the coming years we are seeking to respond to the increasing problem of child bed poverty through:

There are a significant number of volunteering opportunities we want to provide, and we are now looking for a Volunteer Development Officer to take this vital area of our work forward.
The ideal candidate will have experience of successfully supporting the promotion of volunteering opportunities, recruiting volunteers, overseeing volunteers’ induction and core training, and in the ongoing engagement and recognition of volunteers and their amazing contributions.
The main geographical areas (whilst not exclusively) of focus for us in the coming period are across the M62 corridor and the North East of England. The postholder would be required to travel across these areas but also beyond this, as we seek to then support more children in areas of greatest need across England in due course.
